As far as Jeremic is concerned that would be as obvious as the nose on your face. Fancy just asking an advisory opinion from the international court instead of taking it to a full court.
The advisory opinion was predictable since international law is silent on declarations of independence, I could have given Jeremic and Tadic the same advice on a scrap piece of paper and they would not have had to spend a cent and I am not even a lawyer.
The reason why they went that way was because it suited the US; the US could say in public Kosovo’s independence was “approved” by the court, when that was not the case. It left international law in tact because it would stop a cascade of other countries splitting e.g. Spain is one example.
For their effort they were enriched. I know for a fact that Tadic owns property in Austria in the same street as Ivo Senader. A forensic accountant would easily be able to disclose all assets and even if Boris worked lots of overtime or held a second job when he was President he could not amass this wealth.

However, meetings between Vucic and Thaci on a one to one basis without aids would have achieved nothing plus there would always be someone listening to that conversation; believe me always; Serbian as well as foreign secret services.
In the early years of my career I have worked for both the federal and State governments. I have worked in Ministers’ offices as a departmental liaison officer. I can tell you there would be more of a chance oil and water mixing than having an entire cabinet thinking the same way. Agreeing to tariffs is a very, very big issue and it would have come out long before this.
Vucic is not stupid quite the opposite and he can agree to anything but when you have the majority in Serbia against delineation then those numbers flow over to military, intelligence services etc. Vucic would have been exposed. Look at our governments in Australia; leaking like a sieve at times.

The starting point of U.S. is pretty much the same as of China or Russia: we want to sell some stuff. Our interest is (that's the starting point!) peace because we want people buying cars, installing pipelines, making for us railways (so we can transfer more goods to you) and so on.
Things go sour when group interest starting to play. Here China has huge advantage simply because if there is a different group interest arises within The Party - that group usually either takes over or is eliminated.
U.S. is more tricky, Russia is in-between.

It is something more, than just that.
The starting point of U.S. is pretty much the same as of China or Russia: we want to sell some stuff. Our interest is (that's the starting point!) peace because we want people buying cars, installing pipelines, making for us railways (so we can transfer more goods to you) and so on.
Things go sour when group interest starting to play. Here China has huge advantage simply because if there is a different group interest arises within The Party - that group usually either takes over or is eliminated.
U.S. is more tricky, Russia is in-between.
With Kosovo there is everything and it's opposite, starting with near-open support of Russia going towards certain politicians in Kosovo and ending with U.S. being as usual unable to make corrections.
From all three I see the U.S. being the least flexible - simply because they just can't say: "oops, we screwed it up". That inability to fix what is broken is probably the most strange "feature" of the U.S. Establishment.
Even Russian nomenklatura is easier to deal with. Chinese is an interesting story because as long as they can preserve their honor called "face" they are ready to correct them self.
Russians are completely tolerant regarding "keeping the face", Americans completely inflexible. This applies to company management, too. Why?

I don’t doubt for a minute the meeting took place or issues such as delineation were discussed and possible ways of achieving this objective.
However, meetings between Vucic and Thaci on a one to one basis without aids would have achieved nothing plus there would always be someone listening to that conversation; believe me always; Serbian as well as foreign secret services.
In the early years of my career I have worked for both the federal and State governments. I have worked in Ministers’ offices as a departmental liaison officer. I can tell you there would be more of a chance oil and water mixing than having an entire cabinet thinking the same way. Agreeing to tariffs is a very, very big issue and it would have come out long before this.
Vucic is not stupid quite the opposite and he can agree to anything but when you have the majority in Serbia against delineation then those numbers flow over to military, intelligence services etc. Vucic would have been exposed. Look at our governments in Australia; leaking like a sieve at times.
I am not a great fan of politicians, nor am I defending Vucic, but to be fair to Vucic this is Jeremic trying to throw a “bomb” when it’s a fire cracker. It’s an old political trick throw enough mud and see what sticks. Tony Abbot was particularly good at it.

As far as Jeremic is concerned that would be as obvious as the nose on your face. Fancy just asking an advisory opinion from the international court instead of taking it to a full court.
The advisory opinion was predictable since international law is silent on declarations of independence, I could have given Jeremic and Tadic the same advice on a scrap piece of paper and they would not have had to spend a cent and I am not even a lawyer.
The reason why they went that way was because it suited the US; the US could say in public Kosovo’s independence was “approved” by the court, when that was not the case. It left international law in tact because it would stop a cascade of other countries splitting e.g. Spain is one example.
For their effort they were enriched. I know for a fact that Tadic owns property in Austria in the same street as Ivo Senader. A forensic accountant would easily be able to disclose all assets and even if Boris worked lots of overtime or held a second job when he was President he could not amass this wealth.
