The German discount retail chain on Thursday opened 16 outlets in 12 Serbian cities, including five in Belgrade.

Especially as a Brit you should know you have benefitted from more competition by German retail chains, breaking the overpriced monopolies of Tesco, Sainsburys.

Here is a prime example of the grand investments sj is talking about. Except he's not bright enough to realize that it drains money from the country. Big success story here! Making Serbia great again!

What do you expect? Lidl is there to make money. It buys its products in bulk from sources to whom it dictates the price... Of course most of these are not in Serbia. Consumers will be able to buy German and other EU goods... Serbia's domestic producers will suffer. And then, when they are out of business, up go the prices. Welcome to a new round of German domination.

350 from 1500?it is very little! Lidl will drain you and the little money you still have!And not just Lidl, AUCHAN,SPAR, CARREFOUR are already doing or doing the same!In Romania it happened the dame!Good luck with that!
