Senator presents US position on "Kosovo problem"

Increasingly, the US has been taking a more neutral position since the arrival of Trump over the Kosovo issue. Before Trump, the US was extremely biased towards Albanian separatists and behaved as if this issue is completely closed. Now, the language coming out of Washington is that the matter is not closed and that some kind of solution that satisfies Serbs is necessary.

Dramatic shift in tone from the US. IF now is the time for a compromise, Serbia MUST demand more than the north. There must be Serbian zones that are established in the south where Serbs make a rough majority, as well as Gorani if they too want to remain part of Serbia. Only that and extra-territorial status for the Pec, Decani & Prizren monasteries are worth compromising over.

Albs - Your "friends" now have went from "kosovaaa" being a "done deal with nothing to talk about" to " Kosovo problem"...

Kosova's territorial integrity is a done deal for the US. If the US changes the opinion they never say it in riddles. Americans go straight to the point.

The recently opened issue of Preshevë, Bujanoc and Medvegja joining Kosova is what the agreement has to be reached about and Jonson is talking about it. This is what Vučić & Co have to deliver.

To say it simply, the US needs unhindered access via Presheva Valley to Macedonia which is scheduled to become a NATO member very soon. Presheva Valley is inhabited by the Albanian majority fully trusted as the most reliable allies of the US in the Balkans.

So, my advice to the subscribers of the comic movement in Serbia is to not book the tent and trubački orchestra and celebrate yet another defeat.

You seem to forget that a compromise solution between Albanians and Serbs (aka between Vucic and Thaci) can only exist if it's acceptable to both sides, and to break it further down for you, that also includes Albanians.

Please tell us when was the US against a compromised/agreed solution between Serbs and Albanians? That's why the Brussels dialogue is for. That's what the Ahtisaari process was for. That's what the Rambouillet negotiations were for. But each time the Serbs entered negotiations, to get the maximum demands without giving anything to the other side, and therefore an agreement between sides could not be reached.

The only thing that has changed in the US policy is the willingness to accept border changes IF both sides agree to it and IF it doesn't cause additional issues. Two big IFs. And this after both sides have signaled publicly that they might be able to agree. Rather than winds of change is more like a summer breeze.

Oh, and not only does the US think that Kosova's independence is a done deal, Vucic and Dacic now think the same, they simply want to get out of it whatever they can, if any.

Oh dear its fairly clear the US stance has indeed changed for the better! Won't be long before Merkel and EU indeed clarify this is already true for EU and its good as rescinding recognition from the main supporters of this failed still birth of a Kossova*

LOL. You're a greedy Serbian boy aren't you :) You don't have the North, we have it. KSF controls the borders and they can easily go there for a cleanup whenever Serbs step out of line (remember what happened to Gjuric?). KSF presence there is small, because they have agreed that KFOR will cover the area for now.
Once NATO loses its patience with Serbs trying to destabilize, they will leave the area to KSF, as they know best how to deal with the Kosovar Serbs. Serbia knows that it does not dare interfere, otherwise there will be a massive bonfire over Belgrade like back in 1999 and if local Serbs rebel, it'll most likely be Operation Storm 2 in the North.
Don't worry about the North Kosovo Serbs though. They're originally Montenegrin colonizers from Kolashin. They assimilated from Albanian to Serb a couple centuries ago and they'll assimilate back very quickly. In 2 generations, they'll be good Albanians and their ancestors will fight against your ancestors, it's a typical Balkan story.
