The situation is currently such that we have a good opportunity to solve the issue of Kosovo and Metohija with a compromise, says Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic.
- Romans have left amphitheaters, roads, aqueducts all over Europe, Middle East, Africa, but no one on their right mind today suggests that those lands belong to Italy.
- The medieval Serbian kingdoms, which ruled Kosova along with much of Balkans for roughly a 100-150 years, have no genealogical relations with the Kingdom of Karadjordge that emerged in the 20th century. Two separate entities, totally unrelated to each other. So yes, when he Kingdom of Serbia invaded Kosova in 1912, it had absolutely no inherited right to it. And yes, it was an invasion since the majority of the population was against it. You won Kosova by war and lost it by war. Accept it!
- The medieval Serb empire, by comparison to other empires, had the shortest lifespan in Kosova. Rome, Ottoman, Byzantine and even the Bulgarian empire have ruled Kosova throughout history for much longer than Serbs, therefore historically Serbia has much less claim that say Italy, Turkey, Greece or Bulgaria.
- I'm going to borrow your friend's sj theory here and claim that those buildings aren't even built by Serbs since the architecture is Byzantine.
