Lawyers to stop work in protest after murder of colleague

This type of crime does not occur if the lawyer represents a criminal and maintains a client lawyer relationship on a professional basis. It only goes bad if the lawyer becomes involved in his clients business and sometimes the temptation to make big money is too hard to say no.

It is sad that Serbia has to suffer this kind of criminality.

It is tempting to suggest that the lawyers stop representing people held in custody - that would turn a few criminals against the killers. However, the lawyers should continue to do their job of keeping the legal processes working. For the good of the people, the repute of the law must be maintained by law makers and law enforcers. The law has to be obeyed, upheld, enforced, but most of all, it has to be respected.
