Celebrations turn into riots as France lift World Cup/VIDEOS
Celebrations in Paris and other cities in France after the French football team won the World Cup title in Russia turned into riots and clashes with the police.
At best Croatia was a mediocre team. Barely qualified - don't forget, needed the extra playoff games to get into the WC. Every game after the groups stage was OT and penalty kicks which they were LUCKY enough to win - with the help of FIFA, and an easy bracket. If it wasn't for their strong midfield, they wouldn't of made it into the WC. Forwards and backs are at best mediocre, as well as a so-so goalie. They have their chances/odds at the next WC Qatar at a meager 60:1. This makes sense since the midfielders will be gone without anyone in the pipeline to fill the gaps. Serbia, however, will be a powerhouse going into Qatar. A bunch of young talent now and coming up - don't forget, they were the U-20 World Cup champions in 2015. I might place a $1,000 bet on them to wing the next Cup - the odds are 80:1 presently.

Those weren’t Albanians, from what I was told by my Albanian friends, they were from the Serb and Greek minorities living in Tirana who were fighting over free cake.

firstly... france played better than croatia.
they won, they outscored and out played croatia.
controlling the ball for 70% does not mean you outplay at team.
hitting the target 3 times in a game that you have given up 4 goals in means you've been outplayed.
perhaps the croatian team played with more elegance, but who cares. did it lead to anything?
and regarding the goals... all goals, were as legit as all others.
subasic played admirably, but didn't have a chance on any of the 4 goals.
croatia showed the world that a marvelous generation can go far, and france showed the world that a well organized team will win it in the end.

Remember that time Albanians were fighting for free cake and they all brought tonnes of Tupperware to get as much as possible so they could have something to feed their 9 kids for th next few days?

They were the better team by far, but France kept advancing with the same strategy, counter attacks and playing possum. Subasic was obviously injured and should have stopped two of the goals. Perisic was on fire and Modric is A phenomena, once in a life time you see a player like that, he brought back great memories of Dragan Stojkovic who both had similar styles with great lateral movement. If Yugoslavia was together, they would be advancing deep into major tournaments consistently, imagine adding Mitrovic, Matic and Shaqiri to a Yugoslav squad among others.

How painful it must have been for the Croats on this board, along with their new best friends, the Albanians, to watch Djokovic dismantle his opponent for the Wimbledon trophy and then minutes later watch France dismantle Lijepa Nasa! But I guess you guys are used to the feeling, right? Not long ago, in the 2016 Olympics, Serbia destroyed Croatia in basketball and water polo. Also, coming from the poorest State, KiM, in Europe, this is pretty rich considering that welfare is the only game you Albos know. Listen guys, I have to give credit to Croatia for reaching the finals just like Anderson did at Wimbledon but I have to say, watching both games, the losers got demolished. It seems they were in a much lower class.

The first goal the French player dived and second the penalty was a wrong call.
France started the game 2-0 thanks to referee.

Those weren’t Albanians, from what I was told by my Albanian friends, they were from the Serb and Greek minorities living in Tirana who were fighting over free cake.
