Albanian history 101:

Albania first established in 4th Century BC in the Caucasus region along the Caspian Sea.

Byzantium Empire conquered Albania in the 8th Century AD.

Between 8th to 12th Century AD, Byzantine Empire assimilates Albanians into Greek orthodox world, (this is when Albanians adopted the orthodox two headed eagle into their coat of arms).

Byzantium Empire then relocated Albanians (aka Arvanites) from Caucasus to Greece (just north of Athens) in the 12th Century AD to protect the land bridge linking Peloponnese to the mainland Europe from further Slavic settlement south.

As Byzantium Empire reclaimed land north along the Adriatic coast towards modern day Montenegro, Byzantines displace Slavic population and resettle Albanian northward.

When Ottoman Empire conquers Europe from 13th century, Albanians convert on mass and are then used by the ottomans to further displace Slavs in Kosovo and northwest Macedonia.

1878 League of Prizren established and myth building begins (i.e. Skanderbeg)

1912 Serb army liberates Albanian from Ottoman occupation.

1913 modern Albania is established under Italian administration.

1960’s Communist dictator Hoxha directed Albanian archaeologist to invent a new history were Albanians claim to be direct descendants of ancient Illyrians.

Albanians like all human beings come from Africa and are one of the first people to settle in the plains of Europe. The dominant y-DNA haplogroup in all of the Ex-Yu republics is Proto-European I2 (45 - 70%), and Slavic/Celtic R1 taking second and third place (18-20%).
L2 was in Europe before R (that came with Indo-Europeans) and before E, J, N for that matter.

kAlbs dominate with north African E-V13 (50%) followed by Middle-East J2 and R1. You have exactly 0% European I2, so what did you contribute?
