Yeah, he was not aware I was sitting next to him since he was too busy running down Albos with his vehicle. When facts are not your friend, smart-arsed commentary is your only response LOL.

An Albo with an Italian name LOL. When will you grow a backbone and use your real name? Always hiding behind something.

As I said according to Albo mentality Kosova is somewhere between China and Japan in the world economic stakes. Now name all those industries in Kosova

Once again, you are comparing apples with oranges since cost of living is much higher in the US. Also, at $7.50 per hour or even $12.50 in the US you are still poor unless you’re an Albo living there and sharing a room with 10 others and eating garbage, then you’re a millionaire.

It matters not if you are a migrant with an education and have good English skills you still start at the bottom regardless, unless you have exceptional skills and the number of those people that migrate you can count on one hand.

I admit Inflation is a lose term. Its better to state that corporations have given few and meagre wages rises while the cost of living has risen substantially.

There are about 30,000 to 40,000 Serbs that live and work in Russia. The Serbian Orthodox Church has recently built a church in Moscow to provide for its parishioners. There are Serbs that work and live in the Siberia in the gas and oil fields.

Americans enjoy working about. We enjoy diversity and new experiences, unlike narrow-minded Serb nationalists.

Hey these are freedom loving democratically principled Americans living and working in a Communist country ruled by a dictator LOL. How can that happen???? Shouldn’t they leave in disgust??????

...The friend is not German, but he works for a German bank. He was not there on business in the true sense. You see some of the aid money to Kosovo is administered through the EU financial institutions...
(sj, 25 May 2018 11:33)

And I guess this German friend of yours, not actually a full fat German, not there on business in the true sense, knows that you were with him twice in Kosova in 2015!

"The majority of immigrants start at the bottom for $12.50 or $15 an hour."

And that's ten times as much as the average wage of an adult in southern Serbia. The cost of living in the US is probably double the cost of living. So do the math...even a basic wage earner in the US is several times better off.

"Yes, if an immigrant has an education and have good English skills they can get a better job but count the number of immigrants who fall into that category and you will finds it very small percentage."

But almost all the Serbs who go to America fall into that category.

"This is what is needed in the US to bring it back to pre2007 conditions. If you don’t understand it I cant help you just enjoy earning $12.50 an hour."

Inflation has not been that high.

"In Russia UK’s BP has large numbers of UK workers as does Xeon and I only mention 2 western companies; there are others. The oil and gas fields in Siberia are seeking workers and there are plenty of Serbs who live and work out there."

Plenty...as in fifty or a hundred? You remind me a lot of Sasa who talks about individual cases rather than broad trends.

"In China, there are over 2 million foreigners living and working there. In fact, there are 500,000 from the US alone."

Americans enjoy working about. We enjoy diversity and new experiences, unlike narrow-minded Serb nationalists.

"Since JS asked “Go in almost any Serbian town or village, count the number of people who are "middle class," and report back to us.” Serbian villages are mostly inhabited by the elderly so the term middle class does not apply to pensioners..."

There are rich and poor pensioners as much as there are rich and poor thirty year olds. Your statement is disingenuous, it is only an attempt at distracting from the fact that the average pensioner in Serbia is poor, and we need to deal with that fact rather than living in self denial.

"but I would like to know the same about Kosova?"

It doesn't matter what my neighbors status is. But your mentality is so typical of rough Serbian villagers -- I don't mind if I am poor and unsuccessful; I just don't want my neighbor to be successful. Sad.

The friend is not German, but he works for a German bank. He was not there on business in the true sense. You see some of the aid money to Kosovo is administered through the EU financial institutions.

Last year Kosova’s growth was just over 4% but this year it is estimated to be 4.8% - due to production, trade, tourism etc?????

No, due to people like you sending money back so your relatives don’t starve.

OK I don’t add up, but please list all those who invested in Kosova since 1999. List all the EU or US firms that have invested – surely the US alone would have made some investments since they are your bros????

In 2015 I spent 6 months in Europe travelling around and I went to Kosovo and it’s a dump, but the way you guys paint it, Kosovo’ economy falls somewhere in between China and Japan.

Tom L'Orizi

Ok let’s ask you this; how many middle class live in Kosova villages? Since you’re such a supporter of the US do tell what level of investment have they made there to help out with the high levels of unemployment?
(sj, 24 May 2018 14:51)

You tell us.

You claim to have been there twice in 2015 and to have 'seen it all' - as you assert - with your German banker friend from Commerzbank who's got some business interests in - guess where - in Kosova where, according to you, no one invests a dime.

You don't add up again mate.

"What about the cost of living ??
They pay rent in USA and in Serbia , like rest of Balkans live at home and pay NO rent."

That isn't something to brag about. It isn't natural or good. It leads to a lot of infighting within families.

"Food (healthy) cost a lot more than Serbia."

True. But it's cheap because the elderly people raise food in their garden and sell it along the street or at the local market because they don't have a big enough pension to even pay for the basics of life: food, water, and electricity.

"Remember people in USA do not sleep in parks and eat fresh Air"

No way! ;)

"What counts is what is left in your pocket at end of month , when bills, food and experience are taken out."

And Serbs have how much in their pocket at the end of the month?

"I would prefer to live in Switzerland with 5000 USA dollars wageper month then with 1600 USA dollars wage a month in say Michigan State or Mississippi State (tent City).
I been to both USA and Switzerland to know what's better."

I was expecting something about how living in Serbia is so much better but you're talking about Switzerland. You surprised me!

Who cares if it's better to earn $5000/mo in Switzerland than $1600/mo in the States. You are not comparing apples to apples! Not by a long shot!

JS

pre 5 godina

@sj

"...jobs at $12.50 or $15 an hour are for low paid work."

Exactly. A well educated Serb with a strong grasp of the English language can work up the ladder with patience and diligence.

"Workers in the US have not received a proper wage rise in 35 years. What little wage rises have been given have not kept up with inflation."

And the average American has five times the "stuff" that the average Serb has. So what's your point?

"What you need in the US are permanent jobs at US$35 or $40 per hour."

For what? Oh yeah, to live another five times higher than the average Serb.

"Sasa from near Jagodina summed it superbly with the majority of Serbs who leave go to Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Australia, New Zealand, China and Russia (in gas and oil fields)”."

Where did the Russia and China stuff come from? Your overactive imagination? Point one: Serbia are going outside Serbia to earn money. Point two: they aren't going to either Russia or China, no matter how much you dream about the idea.

Go in almost any Serbian town or village, count the number of people who are "middle class," and report back to us.

Only someone sitting on their rear end in an office in a US-like country would write the nonsense that you write.

Serbs working in the USA make more in a week than Serbs working in Serbia for a month, on average. The minimum wage in the US is soon to be $15.00/hr. And it is easy to find jobs in the US paying $12.50/hr. You, obviously, have never been to the US.

More Albanians should get Serbian passports and return in their ancestral lands in Nish and Sanxhak.
(Genti, 22 May 2018 03:33)

Yes, there was a huge Albanian empire in "Nish" and "Sanxhak" 3000 - 10000 years ago.
There are some problems tough to explain.

1) No roads were built (I understand, you telecommuted)
2) No coins were found. I understand, you used PayPal.
3) No writing of any kind was found. The earliest proof of written Albanian is from 15th century. I understand, you used e-mails.

I understand, we (the Huns and the Slavs) are 100% backwards and politically incorrect.
You can find porn in cuneinform (not e-mails!) which is few thousand year old.

And see Novgorod where all that xxx stuff written to each other in 10th century or so has to be transported by truckloads.

You could be 10000 years at the same place - but your historic and cultural footprint is null, nil, zero, zilch, nishta.

First rule is never convert dollars to dinars while working in the US since cost of living in the US is much higher than in Serbia. Its like comparing apples with oranges. And most importantly stop listening to people living in the US who visit home and boast to their families about their wealth and convert their wages to dinars to impress when in fact they are only working menial jobs for low wages.

I was in the US in September and October 2017, so I know what I am talking about and jobs at $12.50 or $15 an hour are for low paid work. The last time I looked that $15 per hour is pie in the sky stuff since big business are against it despite all those demonstrations by employees from MacDonald’s, Pizza Hut etc.

Workers in the US have not received a proper wage rise in 35 years. What little wage rises have been given have not kept up with inflation.

Those monthly jobs the US government crows about are either low paid work or short term casual jobs. What you need in the US are permanent jobs at US$35 or $40 per hour.

Sasa from near Jagodina summed it superbly with the majority of Serbs who leave go to Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Australia, New Zealand, China and Russia (in gas and oil fields)”.

In 2017, 4 out of 5 new jobs in the UK were low paid jobs at US$8.46 per hour for a 40/hour week. The average yearly wage in the UK is US $29,556 while outside of major cities it’s US $20,600.

Sorry, Albanians aren't settling in Nis or Sandzak. They're travelling through them in order to get into Central Europe. Why would they want to live in Central Serbia when you didn't settle there? Albanians want to get out of the region. That's why they wanted Kosovo independence because they foolishly thought they'd be in the EU now. Now they're getting Serbian passports to travel to the EU. Maybe Germany and is their ancestral land since they're going there all the time.

The simple explanation is that Serbian passports are easy to get for Kosovo Albanians, since Serbia considers Kosovo part of Serbia :)

Kosovo is too over-populated and growing fast, too many people in a small area. More Albanians should get Serbian passports and return in their ancestral lands in Nish and Sanxhak. Kosovo's borders are not settled yet. As long as Serbia doesn't recognize Kosovo, it's all fair game. Make them pay for their stupidity!

There is no such thing as a Serbian passport in '99. And the current state of Kosovo/a didn’t exist back then, so the only passport Kosovar Albanians could get their hands on was the blue “Yugoslav” passport (or the red SFR Yugoslavia in the early 90’s). If one is going to make a point, at least use some basic, and easily accessible facts.
Serbian passports came into existence after the dissolution of the union of Serbia and Montenegro in '06 (though I am not sure when the Serbian passports were first issued – irrelevant to the above point).

As to the story that Kosovar citizens are procuring Serbian passports – I ask, why not if done in a legal manner? There aren’t many countries whose passport I would refuse if it gave me advantages to make my life easier/better.
While for Kosovars (specifically, ethnic Albanians) it would make more sense to try the Albanian passport route (since they can use that to travel visa free, as opposed to the Serbian ones issued by the “Koordinaiona Uprava”, which they cannot), if it means they get to do business in Serbia without being harassed as much, I say go for it. That, or traveling to Russia and China visa-free.

But if it helps you sleep better at night, then by all means gloat. Since no one else is doing it, at least you stroke your own ego, to feel better or whatnot.

They pay rent in USA and in Serbia , like rest of Balkans live at home and pay NO rent.

What counts is what is left in your pocket at end of month , when bills, food and experience are taken out.

"What about the cost of living ??

That isn't something to brag about. It isn't natural or good. It leads to a lot of infighting within families.

"Food (healthy) cost a lot more than Serbia."

True. But it's cheap because the elderly people raise food in their garden and sell it along the street or at the local market because they don't have a big enough pension to even pay for the basics of life: food, water, and electricity.

"Remember people in USA do not sleep in parks and eat fresh Air"

No way! ;)

"What counts is what is left in your pocket at end of month , when bills, food and experience are taken out."

Sj,
Serbs working in the USA make more in a week than Serbs working in Serbia for a month, on average. The minimum wage in the US is soon to be $15.00/hr. And it is easy to find jobs in the US paying $12.50/hr. You, obviously, have never been to the US.
(Nis Serb, 22 May 2018 16:41) #

What about the cost of living ??
They pay rent in USA and in Serbia , like rest of Balkans live at home and pay NO rent.
Food (healthy) cost a lot more than Serbia .Serbia and Balkans have the cheapest healthy (organic) food in Europe .
Remember people in USA do not sleep in parks and eat fresh Air ))).
What counts is what is left in your pocket at end of month , when bills, food and experience are taken out.
I would prefer to live in Switzerland with 5000 USA dollars wageper month then with 1600 USA dollars wage a month in say Michigan State or Mississippi State (tent City).
I been to both USA and Switzerland to know what's better .
As well ,Serbs from Switzerland are home in Serbia at lest 4 to 8 times a year for visit.

The majority of immigrants start at the bottom for $12.50 or $15 an hour. Yes, if an immigrant has an education and have good English skills they can get a better job but count the number of immigrants who fall into that category and you will finds it very small percentage.

"What you need in the US are permanent jobs at US$35 or $40 per hour."

This is what is needed in the US to bring it back to pre2007 conditions. If you don’t understand it I cant help you just enjoy earning $12.50 an hour.

It shows how little you know, and you are proud of it too LOL. In Russia UK’s BP has large numbers of UK workers as does Xeon and I only mention 2 western companies; there are others. The oil and gas fields in Siberia are seeking workers and there are plenty of Serbs who live and work out there.

In China, there are over 2 million foreigners living and working there. In fact, there are 500,000 from the US alone. Yep it’s my imagination LOL.

Go in almost any Serbian town or village, count the number of people who are "middle class," and report back to us.

Ok let’s ask you this; how many middle class live in Kosova villages? Since you’re such a supporter of the US do tell what level of investment have they made there to help out with the high levels of unemployment?

Since JS asked “Go in almost any Serbian town or village, count the number of people who are "middle class," and report back to us.” Serbian villages are mostly inhabited by the elderly so the term middle class does not apply to pensioners, but I would like to know the same about Kosova?

I was expecting something about how living in Serbia is so much better but you're talking about Switzerland. You surprised me!

Who cares if it's better to earn $5000/mo in Switzerland than $1600/mo in the States. You are not comparing apples to apples! Not by a long shot!

You tell us.

You claim to have been there twice in 2015 and to have 'seen it all' - as you assert - with your German banker friend from Commerzbank who's got some business interests in - guess where - in Kosova where, according to you, no one invests a dime.

You don't add up again mate.

Sad.
