UK takes aim at UNSC Kosovo meetings "avoiding Russian veto"

This will not change anything.

The UK has turned evil at a state level, as we've seen by the incompetence in the handling of the Skripal case and the baseless threats against Russia by 90% of parliamentarians.

They're full of lies and deceit. Arming Saudi Arabia. Setting up anti-Assad organisations such as the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (based in London).

Their smear campaigns are at an all time low and are no longer credible to the reasonable person.

Slightly off track but the exact same thing is happening to France. Macron is just part of the same machine. Not even going to start about the US.

Kosovo will never have a seat at the UN and that's all that counts. They'll never join the EU without Serbia or the other 5 states agreeing so they will continue to live in poverty until they realise their failed project is worse for them than being under Serbia's governance.

Unemployment is like 50%. Give Serb property and homes back that were stolen. Repatriate Serb families. Rebuild the monasteries that you destroyed. Then we can talk.

This is consistent with the relentless short sighted and plainly wrong UK policy on Kosovo. What makes it even more irritating is that these latest pointless manoeuvres will be directed by the new UK Ambassador to thr UN who is viscerally anti Serb. The UK can take some comfort in the fact that one of the few benefits of Brexit will be not having to support Kosovo financially for ever....

It has been almost 20 years since the war and for anyone with eyes, the issue certainly isn't resolved. It is a frozen conflict and progress is extremely slow. Personally, I don't see the need for quarterly UNSC sessions. It should probably be reduced to twice a year. Is there really that much to talk about? It does, however, demonstrate that UNSC1244 is still active.

The UK is simply acknowledging Kosovo to be the hopeless frozen conflict it is. This will guarantee Kosovo remains outside the UN too. It will produce the opposite of what UK intended.

UNSC needs to focus on climate change or preventing nuclear arm races. We have one planet so if we pollute it or nuke it we're all screwed.

Depleted Uranium was not dropped anywhere, it was used in 30mm cannon rounds fired during strafing runs by A-10 Warthog aircraft. It was also thoroughly researched by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) international scientific team and reported on here - UNEP Final Report: Depleted Uranium in Kosovo - Post-Conflict Environmental Assessment, 2001.
