However, the MIG 29's are fine and airworthy - the only minor issue is upgrading the avionics, and this will be completed soon. Spot on. They are going to step back and the US will look like a fool. Remember Erdogan after the Russian jet was shot down. He ran to NATO and the Germans told him he was mad to pick a fight with Russia and he was on his own. The funny part is that he was set up by the US.

In South Korea’s case, the US wanted them to do the fighting because the US does not have the boots on the ground. It’s troops have dwindled down from 28,000 during Clinton’s time to now just on 10,000 and these guys are not even battel ready.

Nick Carter, former UK General, begged the UK Government to increase military spending because the UK military can no longer match Russians forces in any capacity. Its navy, apart from the new aircraft carrier, are rust buckets that spend more in the dock being repaired than sailing.

To bring NATO up to standard requires trillions which no one has.

Apart from working as a waiter in NATO HQ what expertise do you have in military aircraft to assess that MiG 29 cant fly? As I said the latest western technology, F35, is a piece of junk which so far has cost $520 billion and has problems in communicating with other aircraft, slower than Russians jets, its stealth technology is not that stealth, its electronics fail regularly has difficulties when it rains and these are only a few problems.

I would rather say, knowing how pragmatic the NATO is, 120 solders from Croatia is all that it takes to stop Russia. You ought to take into account the experiences Serb insurgents had with 'Oluja' in 1995. Now, one has to rightfully assume that 23 later, Croatia has gone a long way ahead.

My point about Croatia was to show that surrounding countries have very little to offer in the way of military. And those 120 are 100 kilometres from the Russian/Latvian border. However, NATO does serve excellent wine with its meals.

Economically and militarily after 23 years later Croatia has gone backwards. It shuts down its military bases from December to March each year to save money and it still uses ships which it inherited from Yugoslavia which are rust buckets. It does not have an air force and it looks like the deals being made with Israel is rather suspicious. Some are saying it’s a repeat of Ukraine deal. Its economy now relies on the EU fund so much that it would implode without it.

Oluja happened after the Serbs withdrew their forces not before and it’s so easy acting again told men and women. As far as NATO being pragmatic if it makes you feel safe and warm keep on thinking that.

It saddens me immensely to notice that your sources of information, or more correctly, your sources of non-information have blurred your understanding as to where the real might in the Balkans is.

One has to distinguish between wishing for the neighbor's cow to die and the measured fact that the caw is still alive.

My apologies for dropping down the level of this writing by having to mention the poor cow,but I did this solely to bring it within the context more understandable to Serbs, in particular yourself.

A little taste of NATO strength. Germany has only 38 operational jets of Germany's 114 high-tech Eurofighter. Only 29 out of 93 Tornado fighter jets work. Germany today has just 177,000.

Germany has 6 submarines and not one is functional.

German soldiers had to use broomsticks to stand in for a lack of machine guns during a NATO training exercise. The German troops in Afghanistan didn't know how to use their weapons.

The US sent an aircraft carrier to Vietnam on a friendly visit with only F35s on board. Jim Molan a retired Australian Major General warned that the F35 fighter jets will not be able to outrun Russia’s planes.

Its ability to fight Russian built fighters at supersonic speed, and high altitudes north of Australia are highly questionable. Psst they even have trouble flying when it rains LOL.

Novosti's diplomatic sources say that the US decided to make the move finding Brussels to be "inert" about Kosovo.

The problem with this is that the US doesn't care for what the EU says and the EU doesn't care for what the US says. Regardless of who come's up with a plan, it's only the EU that will decide on entry into the EU. This is simply another carrot from a different direction. Serbia, stop eating carrots!

Hilarious. The West won't, and can't guarantee anything on the Albanians behalf.

The reason this has come about is because Pristina refuses to implement the Brussels Agreement which has absolutely nothing to do with 'recognition'. The US wants to link them and get Belgrade to accept this change which is in only Pristina's favor, not Belgrade's.

The US cannot be trusted in any way and neither can the EU. Trying to entice Belgrade with some impossible to implement carrots to make the first move is nonsensical when Pristina has so far completely ignored everything it has already signed up to.

What a total joke.

Will Washington threaten Belgrade if it says "Thanks, but no thanks." That'll be music to Moscow's ears.

Why would the Kosovars implement ANY deal in which it gives Kosovar Serbs a voice in the internal affairs of Kosova when Serbia refuses to acknowledge Kosova as independent? Anybody with even the most basic skills in negotiation knows that’s a horrible deal and for that fact Kosovars are not implementing it. Good thing Kosovars have smart people representing themselves and their own interests unlike Serbs who have no idea what they are doing. If I was a Kosovar Serbian Snowflake I would disassociate myself from Serbia because they have proven to be incompetent with every aspect of this entire negotiation. Best think for Kosovar Serbs would be for Serbia to accept Kosova’s independence. Then the real healing and progress can begin. Until then, Kosovar Serbs will continue to suffer.

can you explain what population size (i suspect you're referring to that) and keeping one's word, maintaining their honor have to do with one another?

what is the relevance in your argument to demographics as you so eloquently put it?
simple logic would suggest quite the opposite to your beleif. it is easier to maintain a secret, keep ones word and maintain honour when there is just one person involved. The more people the higher likelihood of the secret being exposed, words being broken and agreements not being maintained.
so with respect to the actual honor of signing agreements, the demographics argument works in serbia's favor, and against kosovo's (who, i'm assuming because your stats-free data didn't suggest a kosovo negative population growth) growth expansion.

however, if kosovo continues to backtrack on agreed deals, they will very quickly be exactly the country no one wants to deal with.
no body, and be honest with yourself, put your nationalistic hat down, cares about any of the backwaters of the balkans outside of the balkans and those who have some for of connectivity. no one cares about anyone else unless that someone can make them money. and once that stops, they lose interest in them again.

so as long as there is money to be made in kosovo, serbia, bosnia, croatia, india, spain or canada the world's governments will care. once they can no longer make money there, they will become irrelevant.

Somewhere along the line the Americans got the idea we are willing to trade Kosovo for the EU.
I hope Dacic disabuses them of this notion post haste.
What the hell is so great about the EU anyway. Most seem pretty miserable in it. Cheap labour for the Germans, and a few crumbs go the other way.
I think this Mitchell is coming to tell us how it is. Let’s do that.

As far as Kosovo is concerned there is no going back. Kosovo will never belong to Serbia again, because for one it never belonged in the first place. Crimes Serbs committed in Kosovo and other parts of former YU have closed this chapter once and for all. These talks that are being held are just for making Serbs feel better and their government keep staying in power. Serbs knew they can't keep Kosovo even when they had tens of thousands of cops and soldiers there. I can go on and on but what's the point.

No, this is the position of the US and the EU. ZSO is a requirement for Kosovo if it wishes for continued international support. The same goes for "border demarcation" with Montenegro, and support for the KLA War Crimes Tribunal in the Hague. All will happen regardless of an agreement with Serbia. If the US is offering ever broader powers for the ZSO than originally intended, it's a sign Washington cares more about cooperating with Serbia, a far more strategic country, than Kosovo, a colonial backwater that holds a US military base.

As far as Kosovo is concerned there is no going back. Kosovo will never belong to Serbia again, because for one it never belonged in the first place. Crimes Serbs committed in Kosovo and other parts of former YU have closed this chapter once and for all. These talks that are being held are just for making Serbs feel better and their government keep staying in power. Serbs knew they can't keep Kosovo even when they had tens of thousands of cops and soldiers there. I can go on and on but what's the point.

Novosti's diplomatic sources say that the US decided to make the move finding Brussels to be "inert" about Kosovo.

The problem with this is that the US doesn't care for what the EU says and the EU doesn't care for what the US says. Regardless of who come's up with a plan, it's only the EU that will decide on entry into the EU. This is simply another carrot from a different direction. Serbia, stop eating carrots!

Hilarious. The West won't, and can't guarantee anything on the Albanians behalf.

The reason this has come about is because Pristina refuses to implement the Brussels Agreement which has absolutely nothing to do with 'recognition'. The US wants to link them and get Belgrade to accept this change which is in only Pristina's favor, not Belgrade's.

The US cannot be trusted in any way and neither can the EU. Trying to entice Belgrade with some impossible to implement carrots to make the first move is nonsensical when Pristina has so far completely ignored everything it has already signed up to.

What a total joke.

Will Washington threaten Belgrade if it says "Thanks, but no thanks." That'll be music to Moscow's ears.

Somewhere along the line the Americans got the idea we are willing to trade Kosovo for the EU.
I hope Dacic disabuses them of this notion post haste.

“Media reports” “insider information”. This article is nonsense. There is no package for Serbs being offered. Why would the Kosovars implement ANY deal in which it gives Kosovar Serbs a voice in the internal affairs of Kosova when Serbia refuses to acknowledge Kosova as independent? Anybody with even the most basic skills in negotiation knows that’s a horrible deal and for that fact Kosovars are not implementing it. Good thing Kosovars have smart people representing themselves and their own interests unlike Serbs who have no idea what they are doing. If I was a Kosovar Serbian Snowflake I would disassociate myself from Serbia because they have proven to be incompetent with every aspect of this entire negotiation. Best think for Kosovar Serbs would be for Serbia to accept Kosova’s independence. Then the real healing and progress can begin. Until then, Kosovar Serbs will continue to suffer.

Serbia does not need a 5-generation aircraft and the refurbished Mig 29 is just fine – remember that the US built F111 was operational and highly effective for nearly 50 years but upgraded regularly. Plus, not one of our neighbours have anything better

what is the relevance in your argument to demographics as you so eloquently put it?
simple logic would suggest quite the opposite to your beleif. it is easier to maintain a secret, keep ones word and maintain honour when there is just one person involved. The more people the higher likelihood of the secret being exposed, words being broken and agreements not being maintained.
so with respect to the actual honor of signing agreements, the demographics argument works in serbia's favor, and against kosovo's (who, i'm assuming because your stats-free data didn't suggest a kosovo negative population growth) growth expansion.

Why would the Kosovars implement ANY deal in which it gives Kosovar Serbs a voice in the internal affairs of Kosova when Serbia refuses to acknowledge Kosova as independent? Anybody with even the most basic skills in negotiation knows that’s a horrible deal and for that fact Kosovars are not implementing it. Good thing Kosovars have smart people representing themselves and their own interests unlike Serbs who have no idea what they are doing. No, this is the position of the US and the EU. ZSO is a requirement for Kosovo if it wishes for continued international support. The same goes for "border demarcation" with Montenegro, and support for the KLA War Crimes Tribunal in the Hague. All will happen regardless of an agreement with Serbia. If the US is offering ever broader powers for the ZSO than originally intended, it's a sign Washington cares more about cooperating with Serbia, a far more strategic country, than Kosovo, a colonial backwater that holds a US military base.

Novosti's diplomatic sources say that the US decided to make the move finding Brussels to be "inert" about Kosovo.

The problem with this is that the US doesn't care for what the EU says and the EU doesn't care for what the US says. Regardless of who come's up with a plan, it's only the EU that will decide on entry into the EU. This is simply another carrot from a different direction. Serbia, stop eating carrots!

Why would the Kosovars implement ANY deal in which it gives Kosovar Serbs a voice in the internal affairs of Kosova when Serbia refuses to acknowledge Kosova as independent? Anybody with even the most basic skills in negotiation knows that’s a horrible deal and for that fact Kosovars are not implementing it. Good thing Kosovars have smart people representing themselves and their own interests unlike Serbs who have no idea what they are doing. If I was a Kosovar Serbian Snowflake I would disassociate myself from Serbia because they have proven to be incompetent with every aspect of this entire negotiation. Best think for Kosovar Serbs would be for Serbia to accept Kosova’s independence. Then the real healing and progress can begin. Until then, Kosovar Serbs will continue to suffer.

A little taste of NATO strength. Germany has only 38 operational jets of Germany's 114 high-tech Eurofighter. Only 29 out of 93 Tornado fighter jets work. Germany today has just 177,000.

Germany has 6 submarines and not one is functional.

German soldiers had to use broomsticks to stand in for a lack of machine guns during a NATO training exercise. The German troops in Afghanistan didn't know how to use their weapons.

The US sent an aircraft carrier to Vietnam on a friendly visit with only F35s on board. Jim Molan a retired Australian Major General warned that the F35 fighter jets will not be able to outrun Russia’s planes.

Its ability to fight Russian built fighters at supersonic speed, and high altitudes north of Australia are highly questionable. Psst they even have trouble flying when it rains LOL.

Serbia does not need a 5-generation aircraft and the refurbished Mig 29 is just fine – remember that the US built F111 was operational and highly effective for nearly 50 years but upgraded regularly. Plus, not one of our neighbours have anything better.

There seems to be a serious misunderstanding.
Somewhere along the line the Americans got the idea we are willing to trade Kosovo for the EU.
I hope Dacic disabuses them of this notion post haste.
What the hell is so great about the EU anyway. Most seem pretty miserable in it. Cheap labour for the Germans, and a few crumbs go the other way.
I think this Mitchell is coming to tell us how it is. Let’s do that.

Novosti's diplomatic sources say that the US decided to make the move finding Brussels to be "inert" about Kosovo.

The problem with this is that the US doesn't care for what the EU says and the EU doesn't care for what the US says. Regardless of who come's up with a plan, it's only the EU that will decide on entry into the EU. This is simply another carrot from a different direction. Serbia, stop eating carrots!

what is the relevance in your argument to demographics as you so eloquently put it?
simple logic would suggest quite the opposite to your beleif. it is easier to maintain a secret, keep ones word and maintain honour when there is just one person involved. The more people the higher likelihood of the secret being exposed, words being broken and agreements not being maintained.
so with respect to the actual honor of signing agreements, the demographics argument works in serbia's favor, and against kosovo's (who, i'm assuming because your stats-free data didn't suggest a kosovo negative population growth) growth expansion.

however, if kosovo continues to backtrack on agreed deals, they will very quickly be exactly the country no one wants to deal with.
no body, and be honest with yourself, put your nationalistic hat down, cares about any of the backwaters of the balkans outside of the balkans and those who have some for of connectivity. no one cares about anyone else unless that someone can make them money. and once that stops, they lose interest in them again.

so as long as there is money to be made in kosovo, serbia, bosnia, croatia, india, spain or canada the world's governments will care. once they can no longer make money there, they will become irrelevant.

Hilarious. The West won't, and can't guarantee anything on the Albanians behalf.

The reason this has come about is because Pristina refuses to implement the Brussels Agreement which has absolutely nothing to do with 'recognition'. The US wants to link them and get Belgrade to accept this change which is in only Pristina's favor, not Belgrade's.

The US cannot be trusted in any way and neither can the EU. Trying to entice Belgrade with some impossible to implement carrots to make the first move is nonsensical when Pristina has so far completely ignored everything it has already signed up to.

What a total joke.

Will Washington threaten Belgrade if it says "Thanks, but no thanks." That'll be music to Moscow's ears.

It saddens me immensely to notice that your sources of information, or more correctly, your sources of non-information have blurred your understanding as to where the real might in the Balkans is.

One has to distinguish between wishing for the neighbor's cow to die and the measured fact that the caw is still alive.

Nick Carter, former UK General, begged the UK Government to increase military spending because the UK military can no longer match Russians forces in any capacity. Its navy, apart from the new aircraft carrier, are rust buckets that spend more in the dock being repaired than sailing.

To bring NATO up to standard requires trillions which no one has.

I would rather say, knowing how pragmatic the NATO is, 120 solders from Croatia is all that it takes to stop Russia. You ought to take into account the experiences Serb insurgents had with 'Oluja' in 1995. Now, one has to rightfully assume that 23 later, Croatia has gone a long way ahead.
