"Don't be shy. I know you don't like to be smoked out as being stupid and poor."

Yes, of course, that is the logical conclusion of this discussion. :)

"Let me repeat. America is a heaven for highly trained professionals, and they don't go to the Balkans for living. what are you doing in the Balkans by the way?"

Who said that I came to the Balkans for a living?

"Only People like you with a diploma no higher than high school who are indeed the working poor and who live from paycheck to paycheck are enjoying living there, lol.."

I am cultivating my ancestor's land. It is an interesting alternative to middle-class suburbia.

"Let me repeat, you are a genuine American working poor and a true American fool."

Repeating yourself again? :)

"And every American implementation I know is horribly corrupt and easy to by-pass. Why corrupt? Because if you are not a local, you can't get such electronic pass."

Perhaps you should look up the meaning of corrupt.

"Just pass through and cancel your credit card immediately after you return back from the U.S. They can't do anything."

This suggestion is properly described as corrupt.

"There is no honest solution."

There is. Withdraw US dollars from an ATM and pay with cash at the toll stations. I did exactly that when I drove a rental car around South Africa. Its a really quick and easy solution.

"He probably not a regular in the States as a tourist and I do not think, going there a tourist receives the fun worth his money spent on travel. IMO, there are so many places better than that."

In terms of "bang for the buck," I agree.

Uneducated people are only aware of crystal balls but unaware of science-based analytical skills.

"Stupidity knows no limits."
Smart people don't call others stupid outright; they lead on their opponents to expose themselves voluntarily, which you have done marvelously.

Your complete silence on your diploma issue confirms that, you have no more than high school education, and fit perfectly into the American working poor category.

Ok, you must think you are rich? lol....
I used to live in a neighborhood with average real estate cost of more than 1.5 million dollars, and I am not rich. People who live a few miles from away with average house above 2-3 million dollars are the really rich ones.

Sorry to break the news to you but my mother has been using an electronic tag system for years.
(JS, 9 March 2018 05:51)

It depends on the local implementation - unlike Australia.
And every American implementation I know is horribly corrupt and easy to by-pass.

Why corrupt?

Because if you are not a local, you can't get such electronic pass.
This is very much unlike France, Australia, Belarus.

Instead, either you pass through with your rental car.
Or you pre-pay (and over-pay!) at the rental car office.

If you just pass through you will receive a hugely inflated bill - and padded even more by the rental car owner. Billed to your credit card.

Or you pay even more at the time of the pre-paying.

The solution for every non-local:

Just pass through and cancel your credit card immediately after you return back from the U.S. They can't do anything.

Dishonest? Yes, with dishonest crooks who intent to rob you.
There is no honest solution.

I cannot blame SJ that he does not know the details. He probably not a regular in the States as a tourist and I do not think, going there a tourist receives the fun worth his money spent on travel.

IMO, there are so many places better than that.

"Servers in the US are earning ten times more than in Serbia when you convert dollars to dinars, but prices in the US are 10 times higher too."

This is another example of sj's propaganda. How do prices compare?

Yes, some basic food products cost 1/5-1/8 the price in America.

But if you're buying a car... about the same as anywhere else. If you're buying a phone, add 20-40% depending on the phone. If you're building a house, expect to pay 90% of what you would give for an identical product in America. This list could go on and on...

Sj is up to his propaganda tricks.

So, what if you were born in the US? You can travel through 52 States but it’s no use if you close your eyes. Go to San Francisco and start in Ellis Street and see the great life style.

There are poor people everywhere and Serbs would not be an exception. Hollywood is a powerful tool as it sends out the message that you can have those big houses too only if you come to the US. But once there it’s a different story mate.

I am not Russian and nor am I a troll since this is a Serb site. You can accept or deny the debt but keeping your head in the sand is not going to make it go away. The US is not repaying the principal but only the interest on the debt and borrowing more every day.

Government and business are two separate worlds – its shows how your poor level of education to think otherwise. The $21 trillion is a debt borrowed by the Government on behalf of the people (you). Corporate US pay little to no tax and can walk out of America at the drop of a hat if required. You and other taxpayers are left holding the baby mate.

A major draw for US corporations to Ireland is its low corporation tax rate and numerous controversial tax breaks. The corporations have no loyalty mate.

Servers in the US are earning ten times more than in Serbia when you convert dollars to dinars, but prices in the US are 10 times higher too.

True I was not born in Serbia nor do I live there but I speak Serbian fluently.

:)

"If you have money, why don't you drive through LA, San Francisco, and you will find all the druggies and homeless people; and also New York Harlem and come back tell us how beautiful it is, would you?"

I agree that there are drug addicts and homeless people in the areas you mentioned. But having a total surface area of 3.8 million square miles, those areas are equal to something like 1 / 1,000,000th of the United States, and thus are not very representative of what the landscape is really like in the United States.

Adding up sj's comments over the last few weeks, he smells so much like a Russian troll, propagating all kinds of false information. He seems to think that if he tells big lies about the United States day after day, and week after week, then people will start to think the United States is a trash dump. Anyone like him who claims to have driven across the United States and encountered roads full of potholes....well, sorry to say but such a person has either lost their mind or is hallucinating. "If its true, I am sure you are not lying, you are not doing well financially, dude. You are one who they call working poor in America. Real estate in the States separates people strictly according to their financial status. The rich don't mix with the poor in the same neighborhood. I am not rich, I used to live and own a house in a neighborhood with average real estate cost of 1.5 million. It was there I met some of my Serb friends, who are highly trained professionals like lawyers and doctors."

Every country has a division between rich and poor, and America is not an exception to that rule. But the largest percentage of houses in Serbia are either unfinished or so old that the facade is crumbling. The remaining small percentage of homes are new, hyper-modern palaces. On the roadways, the wealthy speed past Yugos and Zastavas in their new Audis and BMWs. And these privileged folks don't respect traffic regulations, in part because they can get away with it by paying a bribe to the police officer. The contrast between rich and poor is much more dramatic (and corruption much greater) in Serbia than in the United States.

Your other comments don't apply to me because I live in Serbia not the United States.

I have no idea why they put so much sugar in everything. I was amazed how Americans love waffles with maple syrup for breakfast as well as those sugary cereals. Many times, we left without having breakfast. It was a choice of waffles, cereal or sticky muffins.

But when you stay in the big hotels the food on offer is mind boggling and first class.

This is not a travel site. If you want a nice picture of the US please go to a travel agency website. The main topic discussed here is the might of the US on the military and economic sides.

I know how you might feel. It’s a shock to read what I have written, but all those figures and facts are true – here is your debt level as of today - http://www.usdebtclock.org/ At this rate by December it will be close to $22 trillion. Trump is really burning up the dollars.

The Federal debt does not consider State or local government debt which is between $3 and $4 trillion.

If you think this does not influence the US economy, then you are in pixy land.

Ask a server in your local restaurant what they earn per hour and then come back to me.

Absolutely. If you feel, buying Camembert made in Vologda or $2 wine made in Abkhazia is below your ego than you will be upset. You still can buy Dom Perignon though... just it will be almost as expensive as in the States.

I tried the cheaper domestic choice and it was OK for me.

As far as California wine is concerned they make some good wines but it’s not high-class stuff. South Africa and Australia are the only two countries in the world that make first class Shiraz, but that’s not in the $2-$5 per bottle range, try $20 plus.
(sj, 6 March 2018 09:59)

The $20 Shiraz is definitely not in my league.

As for Californian booze: what is being sold in the U.S. domestically has nothing to do with international distribution. Domestically sold wine is way to sweet (like almost anything in the U.S.) and would have no chance abroad.

I usually cheat on Russians in Russia and bring them Californian wine sold in EU.
Like all other Europeans they would just spit out the one sold in the U.S.: "way to sweet".

Forgot to tell, all this affects direct import only. I am not a fan of Coke - but since it (and much more) is made locally, it is not affected.

So indeed, what is essentially missing is the sale event of Dom Perignon (but not Dom Perignon itself).

I am 100% sure, this is why Russia won't be around for long. Without Dom Perignon on sale before New Year - it's doomed.

The US is falling apart, but in slow motion and people living there can’t see it nor is it ever mentioned in the “free media”. What I have quoted are facts. You don’t come back from the dead and the US cant repay the $20.6 trillion debt.

Don’t confuse corporate US with the US Government (you). Corporate US is healthy and profitable, it’s the public (you) that are stuck with the debt. Trump is using borrowed money to give tax cuts to people like Warden Buffet?

Hop in a car and travel through middle America – I did just that; and tell me it isn’t a trash dump. I liked Chicago the best, but walk along the river and look up at the old bridges where rust is coming off in sheets. Infrastructure is falling apart. Lovely highways and roads through national parks, but once off these roads you have pot holes ,dirt roads where you once had bitumen.

I have never seen so many homeless people in my life. In San Francisco alone there were meth heads and homeless laying on the ground outside my hotel and this went on block after block.

Have you ever been to Russia to compare the media? What you think and what is fact are two different worlds. Joseph Stalin would have been proud to have a media as “liberal” as they have in the US.

I’m not bitter but I get very tired of listening to people quote the strength of US economically or militarily. Has you free media mentioned that China is the World no.1 economy since 2014? No.

Ataman

pre 6 godina

what type of sanctions does the US have and how do they hurt the people?
(sj, 5 March 2018 10:05)

What hurts people are the counter-sanctions of Putin, mostly regarding the import of food from countries which joined sanctions.

Example. You have difficulty to buy Californian (or EU) wine. The wine from Crimea sux, suffered from decades of Ukrainian corruption. So if you want to have cheap but still OK booze you go for Moldavian or Abkhazian wine. The domestic Russian champagne improves, but the Gorbi - insanity of destroying wine yards still hurts.

If you have more money, you can buy South African, Chilean, Argentinian booze. But there is nothing of OK quality in the $2 - $5 range, like in France or Germany.

Than the cheese problem. Soviet-time cheese sux horribly. Without the French, Swiss, etc. cheese (now) the factory in Vologda scrambles to improve. They did.

I am wrong - there is 'black market' cheese from a 'sanction' country, usually a re-export from Belarus. Price-wise it's like Bitcoin.

In general I have somewhat easier time to buy OK food in RU than in my least favorite food-country (CZ).

But it is far from being France. And regarding the export variety the Auchan of Lvov (in Ukraine) does beat pretty much in RU. To bad, the prices of Auchan in Lvov are 100% incompatible with Ukrainian salaries. They would be OK in RU.

The selection in Auchan RU is largely domestic (see above, why) but as far as the quality and the price they are OK for me.

Your comments can be summed up like this..."Everything about America is messed up." It doesn't matter whether you are commenting on wages, employment, infrastructure, military prowess, or anything else; in your assessment America is falling apart.

The problem with your posts is not that you don't have an occasional point to make but that the majority of what you say is unbalanced, and thus nearly impossible to believe or accept.

You could do a lot better if you would get rid of the bitterness.

The United States is anything but a trash dump. There are homeless people and there are ghettos but its an enormous country that is far nicer than any country in Eastern Europe. The press seems much more free in the US than Russia but then again there is a strongly liberal bias among major US news channels.

You can make valid points but it needs to be balanced; it needs to account for all aspects of the topic not just the portions that look unfavorable to the United States and its citizens.

Yep, I have seen the economic success in the US LOL. Its unemployment is now, wait for it, only 4.1%. I note that even Trump will not go near that one. Working for a staggering $4.50 per hour in the North while an even bigger sum of $2.50 in Texas is a fine example of an economy on the rise.

The US has not had a proper pay rise in over 30 years. People working two jobs just to survive.

Meanwhile the US debt has risen from $20 trillion to $20.6 trillion in a matter of months and you think it makes no difference to the overall effect on the US economy, but you talk about gas being $2.40 gal.

After observing that poor excuse for a “free media” in the US I am no longer amazed why you talk this way since they could convince people like you to buy refrigerators even if you lived on an iceberg.

People living in tents for years in the US still say the US is the best country in the world. It’s called brain washing. Reminds me of the Communists. They were great at this. Now the US has copied the Communists.

Russians starving from sanctions LOL. You don’t even know the type of sanctions the US has against Russia, and they are meaningless except to tell its population the US still matters. (Albanian American, 4 March 2018 13:06)

Some male Albanian, I guess.
No one questions that, it is most likely a genuine person.

But who's the daddy of Aqif Blyta, Victory1999, Peter The Rocky, Azir, Avni, Lenard?

The only thing we know, Lenard's character can handle LaTex text processor, is quite intelligent and (still) probably a fake.

Than there is the "Moderate Serb" who is not moderate, rather primitive.

Than we have the Canadian Serb loser "Danilo".

Quite a few people here suspect, the "daddy" of all these characters, you including are the same.

Even if not - your name is "shut the fck up", at least compared with Skenderbeu 1444.

Because he lives in Albania, you are not. You have nothing to lose, he - like many of us - have all the risk. Don't like that name? Feel free to move back.

You don’t even know the type of sanctions the US has against Russia, and they are meaningless except to tell its population the US still matters. what type of sanctions does the US have and how do they hurt the people?

The United States is living on borrowed time, the national debt is a ticking time bomb. Trump actually is aware of this, but he is too late to do anything about it. Its time to either declare bankruptcy and dismantle the US Federal reserve (Den of Thieves) Greece in a smaller scale tried to do it but the EU trampled them and Greek PM Alexi sipras lost his nerve. However, other countries such as Italy, France, Canada, Portugal and Spain are not much better.

To be a troll I must be on an Albanian or Croat site, but this is a Serbian-based media site. If I am lying, then I do it to my fellow Serbs.

Not even God can help the US with this debt.

If its true, I am sure you are not lying, you are not doing well financially, dude. You are one who they call working poor in America. Real estate in the States separates people strictly according to their financial status. The rich don't mix with the poor in the same neighborhood. I am not rich, I used to live and own a house in a neighborhood with average real estate cost of 1.5 million.

Putin is one of those pompous ‘President For Life’ types.

He has suppressed the press in Russia. It is not a free country.

Serbia has a proper democratic system where Presidents and Prime Ministers get replaced regularly by the people’s votes.

Russia should learn from Serbia, not Serbia from Russia.

I thought the video of Nuclear Weapons was sick boastfulness and made Putin look like a pathetic dangerous lunatic.

Nothing to admire.

Serbia can love Russia and Russians, but should learn that Putin is not worthy to be followed.

I know how you might feel. It’s a shock to read what I have written, but all those figures and facts are true – here is your debt level as of today - http://www.usdebtclock.org/ At this rate by December it will be close to $22 trillion. Trump is really burning up the dollars.

I agree that there are drug addicts and homeless people in the areas you mentioned.

The corporations have no loyalty mate.

what type of sanctions does the US have and how do they hurt the people?

Ataman

Absolutely. If you feel, buying Camembert made in Vologda or $2 wine made in Abkhazia is below your ego than you will be upset. You still can buy Dom Perignon though... just it will be almost as expensive as in the States.

I tried the cheaper domestic choice and it was OK for me.

So indeed, what is essentially missing is the sale event of Dom Perignon (but not Dom Perignon itself).

"I was born and raised in the United States. I have traveled through twenty-six states and lived near two large cities."
"..I live in Serbia not in USA, ..other comments don't apply to me.."

The more you write, the more you expose yourself.
Dude, don't be shy. My comment on you is accurate, and you are one American working poor roaming around the Balkans feeling like a king falsely. Your reply confirmed it. It's simple that a highly trained professionals don't make a living in the Balkans like you, lol...
I have been to Serbia, and to all major powers in the world. You are out of your mind of comparing Serbia with US.
The more you write, the more you expose yourself. So, don't even try it.

"You are out of your mind of comparing Serbia with US."

Actually that's what sj has been doing, and I agree with you -- there is no comparison. Hopefully sj will come back to reality with the rest of us.

"So you are an American, but why live in Serbia, a country of which you loathe?"

I enjoy Serbia. It's just the cranky ultra-nationalism of a small minority (who somehow consider themselves the 'real Serbs') that I find disreputable.

"Because of your lacking of financial freedom apparently?"

That's quite a conclusion to draw from the little bit that you know about me. Have you been rubbing a crystal ball lately?

"As a native English speaker, your writing skill is equivalent to a 9th grader or lower in the states."

These are comments on a new site on the internet not academic writing. Sheesh. :)

"you expose you are one American working poor, lol..."

Stupidity knows no limits.

"Main highways and roads through National Parks are great, but once you leave those and go into small towns its a different picture."

You are describing Serbia not America.

"Australia has had an electronic tag system for use on toll roads for over a decade which does not require a driver to stop and feed notes into a machine like in the US and you guys claim the US is technologically advanced LOL. To much Hollywood."

Sorry to break the news to you but my mother has been using an electronic tag system for years. Next time you comment on something, try knowing what you are talking about before you make yourself look silly. Or you just love mimicking a Russian troll?

@JS,

Don't be shy. I know you don't like to be smoked out as being stupid and poor.
Let me repeat. America is a heaven for highly trained professionals, and they don't go to the Balkans for living. what are you doing in the Balkans by the way? Only People like you with a diploma no higher than high school who are indeed the working poor and who live from paycheck to paycheck are enjoying living there, lol..
Your silence on your diploma and calling me stupid confirmed you only have education no higher than high school.
Let me repeat, you are a genuine American working poor and a true American fool.

Ok, you must think you are rich? lol....
I used to live in a neighborhood with average real estate cost of more than 1.5 million dollars, and I am not rich. People who live a few miles from away with average house above 2-3 million dollars are the really rich ones.

"Have you been rubbing a crystal ball lately?"
