Real simple solution to all this.

Let Serbs vote.

Should we recognize unilateral vote of independence of kosovo and let it go so Serbia can join EU?

1) YES! Let it go already We will all be together as one as part of the EU eventually anyway!
(Serbia drops all its claims, Serb path to EU continues and
Serbia keeps getting money from EU)

2) No! We cut off our nose to spite our face!
(Serbia immediately withdraws bid to join EU, EU money
immediately stops and Serbia implements all Serbia's
brilliant solutions for boiling the ocean and curing world
hunger it developed without needing to join the EU)

It's time to put up or shut up.

The EU has just called Serbia's bluff.

This may be a bit off topic, but that behemoth cruise ship pulling into Dubrovnik is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen. Who goes there? Rick Steves looking for a cheap meal?

I do not for a moment want to degrade Romania or Bulgaria, but I have been to both and the level of corruption is beyond belief.
(sj, 8 February 2018 12:51)

They - and add Kosovo - are fine and dandy on the corruption front - once you look at FYROM. That one is a complete shame.

And Serbian police is an other nice institution.

Regardless, FYROM is the king of corruption.

As far as Victory 1999 is concerned, well if he is a Serb then that is very sad because he is one sick puppy, but Serbs have had turn coats before and survived. In fact, the Serbian Ambassador to Germany sided with the Germans at the start of WW1.
(sj, 8 February 2018 12:51)

There are quite strong indicators that Victory1999 = Avni = Lenard = Azir = .... = some Serb from either Canada or Belgrade or Novi Sad.

Much in recent days was said between Roger7 and myself.

If that's the case... one word: sramota.

Please notice how much is that guy (or maybe one or two more) addicted to attention. He is an attention and validation maniac. Do not know, who is posting under "Vushtrri" but it's the same thing. Either give them a stupid essay about donkeys or nothing.
The last will probably annoy them the most.

The answers to the road toll were not only incorrect but lacking the much-promoted "European values".
Who wrote them has pretty much no idea how they do work or not.

Looks for me, the same person wrote both.

Posting the writing at 05:32 AM - probably very oddball working hours in E.U., eh?

That's evening in the snowy Canada, by the way.

Which countries has Croatia settled its borders? Slovenia? That is still debatable; BiH? No; Serbia? No. So what the f*** are you talking about?

This all about another half-arsed attempt to bring Serbia under control. Watch the next announcement – Serbia does not have to fulfil the demands blah, blah.

I make a little prediction here. Nothing happens, and talks continue because if the EU pushes too hard Vucic takes it to a referendum and its bye bye EU.

Taking out of one’s backside is a normal mantra for you Albos. I have been to both Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia and I know the difference. I’d rather live in Serbia.
(sj, 8 February 2018 11:18)

SJ,

I agree with you regarding Romania and Bulgaria. I think, most of Romanians and Bulgarians would do the same.

But what would you do if it would turn out, Victory1999 has nothing to do with Kosovo or Albania because he is, say, a Serb from Canada?

And is here only to satisfy his sick brain.

Taking out of one’s backside is a normal mantra for you Albos. I have been to both Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia and I know the difference. I’d rather live in Serbia.

If Serbia was in South East Asia I would compare it to Indonesia and Vietnam but its in Europe and so far, the largest investment of Chinese money is in Serbia.
I know since I work for a Chinese commercial bank. I know just what they think of Serbia and their future plans there. The Chinses President, leader of the No1 world economy – sorry not US, but China – spends 3 days in a small place like Serbia, that means something.

Investment is what improves the standard of living in a country – they may not teach that in Albo economic books.

I hate to disappoint you but the level of investment in Serbia is phenomenal. If you like I can post some of the companies which have opened for business. Perhaps you can tell me who has invested in Kosova or even better Croatia in the last 10 years?

If Serbia manages to reach the same level as Austria then it’s fantastic, but I only wanted to point out why the EU’s demands are going to vanish into thin air just like they have in the past.

I can travel from Istanbul to Italy and not travers Albania, Montenegro, Macedonia or Croatia, but I can’t travel to Istanbul without going through Serbia. Think about it mate. Think hard.

Romania and Bulgaria have one of the lowest life standards in Europe despite being Eu members. And your beloved serbia? Much worse. Cut the crap, you are not impressing anyone with that information. You have Indonesia or Vietnam which receive higher investments than serbia and both are poorer and less developed. And there are plenty of third world nations who enjoy more chinese investments and more chinese companies in their nation then you could even dream on in serbia.

Do you even know how modern economy works? Even if you join Eu, you will not become richer than Austria. Thats pathetic delusions

How many times do you have to be wrong to admit that you are not good at this game?????

Well if firms like Siemens, having purchased Milanovic Engineering in Kragujevac, will employ over 1,000 so if this is a stagnant economy then let it be stagnant.

There are two parts to these EU “obstacles” and it has nothing to do with Kosovo; that part is a rouse, Albanians are small fry. The first is Serbia’s close relations with Russia and how the US can turn that around. The second relates to having too many applicants for the EU. With the UK leaving, the EU funds are being depleting. The EU is still “printing” money to kick start the economy and the year 2025 comes into play because the EU is hoping the economy will improve.

Vucic is playing the game. He is preparing the people for a referendum. I know what the result will be, so the EU will fold like a cheap suit. The EU will cave in long before any referendum LOL.

If I can use the analogy Dracula fears the cross, just like the EU fears a referendum, while they lecture others about democratic values.

All vehicular movements carrying goods from east to west and reverse, must pass through Jagodina. Berlin to Istanbul across Serbia 3 days around it 7 days. First, it was the Chinese President and now the Japanese PM visiting – imagine little Serbia being visited by the No1 and No 3 world economies. Does this tell you something?

If you look at the map, you see that no transport from Southern Europe or Middle East can efficiently by-pass Serbia: there are only two bridges on the Danube between Romania and Bulgaria and even the newest (Vidin-Calafat) is inadequate.

So even from Greece, by-passing FYROM and Serbia is not feasible.

In addition to that, EU policy destroyed the railway cooperation between EU countries, both passenger and freight.

Most of the freight is on the road. If you drive in Germany, this is not the news, that than-famous Autobahn is completely inadequate for the volume of transport.

If I would be the president of Serbia I would play a bit more tough.

- Set up a 'Kosovo Fund' designed to help displaced persons from Kosovo.

- Privatize all the toll roads, they would not belong to the Serbian government.
They would belong to a private company from China, Russia, etc.

- The fund above would be 100% financed from freight transit fees

- The vehicles registered in countries which recognized Kosovo or owned by companies registered in such countries would pay a prohibitively expensive road toll.
It will be never official why is that, there would be merely a country list. Which would "by coincidence" match the list.

Any complain from EU?

This is typical Vucic-talk. The EU basically gives Serbia a green light for admission in the next few years and all but takes away the obstacle of Kosovo and here Vucic gets all somber and serious in front of the cameras in some sort of attempt at convincing his audience the he and only he can navigate Serbia through the treacherous path towards EU membership. The EU has basically sidelined Kosovo as an issue to solve in the indeterminate future, and Vucic will basically take credit for carefully steering Serbia down an otherwise straight, wide, and paved road.

Serbia is already reaping more investments from the EU than some countries that are already members. Second, Serbia is a part of Europe and has natural economic ties like any other trading partners, it does not need an EU membership to attest to that. The EU is a sinking ship, it is only a question of time. How many other EU members had to forfeit territory for membership? The EU is a US made project in order to control that part of the world. Stay the course, China and Russia are the world's leading economic powers who respect our territorial integrity and provide aid on all fronts. Why would anyone in their right mind want to abandon its cradle of existence for a mirage. I say f**k the EU and look eastward!!!

What a stupid remark. Would the Partizans have defeated the Nazis in Yugoslavia without any foreign help? Would Serbia be in a worse predicament without Russia help in the UN etc?

You Serbs act as if alliances and assistance from foreign powers has only occurred with the Kosovars when anyone with a brain knows that’s not the case. The only difference is that assistance from foreign countries helped to secure Kosovas independence! Serbia’s assistance and alliance with Russia ended up being useless because they didn’t help you!

Get some new friends and grow a pair of balls and stop crying about how Serbia was defeated. Your constant crying about NATO intervention is jealous behavior, if the tables were turned and Russia helped you in the same way and Serbia prevailed you Serbs would find that to be acceptable.

Long story short, Vucic is telling Serbs it’s not a question of if but when the desire to get back Kosova is over. Bye bye! A few more generations and Serbia won’t even be talked ny about Kosova anymore.

'Sorry, not our road, talk to the owner'.

Of course, the goods are welcome to transit Serbia on the Pireus - Budapest railway (will be made by Chinese) or to / from Bar (owned bt RZD).
