Since some people are very "infuriated" by this "terrorist act" and want "Serbian police back in Kosovo" here is a reminder:

Northern Kosovo Police is made of Serbian ethnic policemen.
Northern Kosovo judicial personnel are Serbian ethnics.

If there we'll be any obstruction of justice or political interference from Pristina authorities on the investigation they can always refer that to EULEX which is here on the request of the Kosovo Serb local authorities.

If Northern K-Mitrovica authorities want to find who did it they have all the means to do it properly.

I hope they catch the killer(s), whoever it is. No murder should go unsolved, why hide if you think it was right! This is a loss for moderate serbs, especially in kosovo.

My condolences to the Ivanovic family. It seems that the politician was worried about his life a few days earlier and reported it to another news agency. He also is on record stating that Serbs are fearful of other Serbs in Mitrovica that is about 2km sq and not Albanians. That the police (Serb as well) do not do anything even though there are cameras everywhere in the city. That drugs are sold on street corners as if they were legitimate pharmacies. How is this possible?

He knew he was about to die, reports it, and now all of a sudden Serbia proper has more info on the incident than the local police in Kosovo/a. Again how is this possible?

I hope the police find the individual(s) and prosecute them to the fullest degree of the law (life imprisonment). He feared his people more than his fellow neighbors the Albanians.

Well, Kosovo was ruined by the forces under the control of the FRY and Serbian authorities, since it was the deliberate actions of those forces that caused the departure of at least 700000 Kosovo Albanians from Kosovo in the short period of time between the end of March and beginning of June 1999. The West was never in control of those forces, dear!

We cant get along with each other and integrate our communities in kosovo from albo and serbo bandits in power ... how sad and unacceptable

First of all I am not sick and spare me the fake sympathy for Oliver or any Serb.
I have no doubt that there are criminal elements in the Serbian part of Kosovo. When part of a country isn't stable and rule of law has gone out the window what else would one expect.
These conditions were created by the west who ruined Kosovo using Albanians as foot soldiers.
Maybe Oliver was worried about his safety but anyone could have used this opportunity to kill him and Serbs would look like the killers.

What exactly did Serbs have to far from him? The criminal element was in charge of the area and he was powerless to do anything about it so why would they kill him? He wasn't a threat to anyone. Criminals were doing what they wanted without anyone stopping them so killing him was only going to bring in law enforcement and this is something they don't want. His death has only put them under the microscope now.

On the other hand, Albanians have everything to gain by his death. If Serbs are enraged enough maybe there will be a chance for war and then perhaps the US will do some real damage to Serbia and the rest of Serbs in Kosovo will be driven out.
See, it's a win for Albanians only, or so you think.
