Because its cheaper to manufacture them in Serbia than China then transport them to the EU. The EU is the targeted market. More jobs for Serbs and SFA for Albos and Croats.

Do you honestly think the Chinese will build in all the pollution control devices they would be required to put in the factory if it was in the EU?
You might get jobs but at what cost? The health of the local population and the environment.

At what cost? The west has moved all their manufacturing to China and today they do not make anything any more. Meanwhile wages are decline and unemployment is high but if you think living off food stamps is OK then that's fine with me.

On the issue of meeting standards the Chinese firm that purchased the Smederevo steel plant has already installed pollution reduction equipment which was not there before. The Chinese are well aware of what the EU requires.
