Presumably this office and its relations with Russia and China will inject far more than 12 million per annum into the Serbian economy otherwise questions will be asked.

"Presumably"?! So you don't have any fact to support that! It's so amusing that all somebody has to do to get Serbia's taxpayers money is to claim that they will be used for some sort of cooperation with Russia and/or China. He will be immediately presumed to be a patriot and trusted with Serbia's taxpayer money lol No wonder Serbia's poor taxpayers get ripped of again and again...

Oh no, 50 euro cents per year per citizen for strengthening ties to Russia and China. However will we afford that. Stop whinging. Things are getting better (slowly).

What a fleecing of the Serbian Taxpayer! This is classic cronyism.

The Serbian people voted for this ilk. This country deserves everything that happens to it.

Please go outside and have a look around Belgrade. It is falling apart, filthy, with garbage everywhere, buildings crumbling and roads like mountain tracks and this man is getting ONE MILLION EURO A MONTH to spend on his friends.

LOL! I think you are describing the Belgrade Waterfront project. Yes, it's all falling apart because it's a construction site but have a look at the end result. Check -> http://www.eaglehills.com/our-developments/serbia/belgrade-waterfront/master-plan

If you read the article, you would see that estimates are preliminary and that the costs are not in the budget so we just have to wait and see. Who knows, maybe Russia and China will end up paying for it, however, I expect this office to inject significant amounts into the Serbian economy. We are talking about Russia and China here, who are investing billions into Serbia.

Belgrade is actually the most vibrant city in the entire region. I would not say it is "falling apart" as more Germans, Russians, Chinese people are walking the streets year after year. This would not be happening if what you described is true.

That being said though, this office for Nikolic is a giant waste of tax payer money. As is the new gov't ministries that were just announced. #DrainTheSwamp!!!

Fair but it could do the job with less, 1M$ is huge amount for any Balkan nation. In a place where there is high unemployment and people getting paid 400 to 600Euros a month this makes people go crazy.

I am sure this can be done at 200K but this is the price asked to not run against Vucic !!!

Don't you think to use this money to fix your roads,to give it to poor Serbian citizens, to fix your universities, your schools, your infrastructures, to raise the salaries of people, to raise the money for the old people?
Funny Serbia, and funny Serbian lambs.
This is Serbia corrupt politicians and corrup t system.
Very sad for Serbia.

Traditionally these jobs are performed by chambers of commerce which are usually jointly funded by the countries involved, i.e. Chinese/Serbian Chamber of Commerce is funded by both Serbia and China. On top of that these chambers make up additional funding by organising business lunches, seminars etc.
Nikolic's new office should therefore be funded by Russia, as well as China and not just Serbia
