I know of no other country in the world - except, perhaps, North Korea or Taliban-era Afghanistan - where a head of state (president or monarch) is constitutionally permitted to lobby, "persuade" the parliamentarians, twist arms of his own party members and otherwise blackmail and openly threaten everyone on behalf of the prime minister candidate he has ALREADY DECIDED to give a mandate to. Something of this nature was probably last seen in Europe around the time of Savonarola's bloody fiorentine theocracy, mid-XV century.

In fact, I know of no sane, rational and lucid political system anywhere in the world wherein a president remains a head of his party long after being elected and inaugurated (not even in the Soviet Union!). Most elected heads of state worldwide voluntarily and of their own free will and cognizance relinquish their party posts in order to become "presidents of all citizens", not just those who voted for them. But I guess this is too much grace, class and intellectual elegance to expect from the Serbian ruling caste: they will not and cannot reign over us unless and until they reign as total, absolute and hereditary slave-owners.

I know little of Ana Brnabic except that she is gay and that she had accomplished absolutely NOTHING thus far. The former is not the legitimate reason to oppose her, but the latter is. However, the single biggest reason to oppose her is the person who nominated her, and how he manipulated this classless act.
