Serbia doesn't need to spend millions on fixing and maintaining out dated Mig29s. It's a total waste of money that could be invested into the economy. The BUK systems are also out dated not much good against modern NATO fighters. If they are serious about air defence then they should've gone for the s300. Everything else is a waste of money.

Its normal for an incoming administration to maintain the same course until they work out how they will implement their new position. Trump has been in power for a few days only, but if you think that it’s really going to be business as usual keep dreaming otherwise Trump would not have called Vlad Putin and talked to him for 45 minutes. It’s not business as usual.
The US cannot continue as is. Its creaking at the seams with debt and something is going to give and that is the Balkans
Ps quoting Mattis on any position is near impossible since he changes his positions as often as he changes his socks. Ive read several of Mattis' so called positions of several years ago which are totally different today.

General Mattis is not forming their foreign policy and it's not for the USA to decide any longer. We'll see the developments but the trend is to lower the US spendings to secure the Europeans. The price of the issue is USD 259 Bln that NATO members should pay additionally to reach 2% of their GDP. So don't open champaigne yet.

Pay? Pay for what? serbs are dying out as we post. They cant have children anymore. Their old population is growing stronger while their young population is declining. The death rate in serbia is higher than their birth rate. There are 8 million albanians in the balkans and we are growing everyday. Serbia cant do sh*t. We are the future. You are the past. HAHA!

Serbia is crying over a Kosovo army, imagine if Croatia, Bosnia or Albania begin to buy Mig or else.

Defence Minister maybe you will get these weapons from somewhere for free, however the money to pay for them will be coming from the coffers of tax payers.

Belarus is more pro-Serbia than Russia. The Belorussian president even offered Milosevic anti-aircraft some months before the NATO bombing because he could see what NATO was up to. He said they would even fly them into Serbia at risk to their pilots, but Milosevic said it was unnecessary. Milosevic foolishly thought NATO would not bomb Serbia.
Serbian leaders always fail to see the obvious. Like how the Serbian government was surprised when Hungary closed its border to the illegal migrants. They said they were shocked, yet ignored the months when Hungary was building the wall. I suppose the Serbian leadership thought Hungary was putting all that effort into bluffing!?

The Serbs are the modern day Spartans whilst your lot will fall like the Zulus at Rourke's Drift.The smart money's on Serbia because you share your flag of war with the Italians.
