Prisoners of the Ljubljana Dob prison are suing the state and have filed hundreds of demands for reparations over the last several weeks. The prisoners serving their time in Dob are suing the state for inhumane living conditions, according to the Slovenian national television station’s website. According to the charges, the prisoners have already started submitting demands for reparations. The prisoners' attorney Franci Matoz added that over the last three weeks, there have been 300 such demands filed. He said that each of the demands ask for about EUR 5,000. The announced charges were also commented on by State Secretary of the Slovenian Justice Ministry Bostjan Skrlec, who said that while there were reasons found in the process to back up the claims of the prisoners, the situation could also be solved by correcting the problems within the prison.
