Republic of Srpska Prime Minister Milorad Dodik expects the mandate of the Office of the High Representative (OHR) to expire on June 1, next year. Addressing representatives of local communities from the RS, Dodik said that the entity had no need for an OHR that imposed solutions, stressing that Bosnia-Hercegovina’s internal governance should be the fruit of an agreement between domestic politicians. Dodik expects OHR to leave in June “The RS won’t embark on any adventures, nor is it ready to surrender any powers to the OHR,“ said Dodik, adding that the RS “does not respond to any kind of blackmail, but it is prepared to cooperate with all those who respect the Dayton Accords, her territorial integrity and institutions.“ He said that there were those in the RS that wanted the OHR to extend its mandate in order to “realize some of their own wishes and ambitions“ through it. Dodik stressed that the international community was increasingly accepting the RS “as a factor and partner for talks on all important issues in Bosnia-Hercegovina.“ Speaking of the economic and social situation in the RS, he said that the planned budget for next year was achievable and that there would be no redundancies. The RS prime minister called on local community representatives to clear administrative barriers as soon as possible in order to attract investors, adding that developmental projects would continue next year. He added that the RS espoused human rights and equality, stating that while the entity would not give up on European integration, it was not prepared to sacrifice the interests of the RS’s citizens.
