It "received power generating sets, water reservoirs, heaters, lighting, three thermally insulated tents complete with beds and heating units for the coming winter," Tanjug reported.

Chepurin said that the large influx of migrants was placing Serbia in a difficult sitation and since it had done nothing to cause that, it needed to be helped tackle the problem. The only question, he said, was what to do in case the influx of migrants increased.

Vulin said that the Russian donation would make it possible for the center for reception to accommodate approximately 1,000 migrants a day.

According to the Red Cross in Presevo, between 700 and 1,000 asylum seekers arrive in the southern Serbian town every day. Most of them go through the reception center but one part of them continue on their way to Belgrade without stopping.

The Presevo-based center has enough food and water, and medical teams are available around the clock.
