"The messages voiced by Rapporteur of the European Parliament on Serbia David McAllister and chief of the parliamentary group for Serbia Eduard Kukan were clear, wherein they said that Serbia is on a good path and that the time has come to open the chapters," Vucic said speaking about the draft resolution on Serbia which was adopted by the EP Committee on Foreign Affairs.

McAllister said that he advocates prompt opening of Chapters 23 and 24 in the accession talks, as well as Chapter 35 which in Serbia's case covers the issue of Kosovo.

Vucic said that there were "several matters which need to be completed in connection to Kosovo and Metohija, including the adoption of the decision concerning potential participation of Serbs in provincial institutions."

The prime minister underscored that the opening of the chapters "will greatly depend on the attitude toward the implementation of the Brussels agreement."
