Milošević’s widow: I'd return to Serbia immediately

I would return to Serbia this minute, possibly tomorrow morning, but it is not up to me, Slobodan Milosevic’s widow Mirjana Markovic has said. Her statement came on Friday, one day after Russian Ambassador to Belgrade Alexandr Konuzin announced that her stay there was legal. "No. I am not afraid, but my decision to return certainly does not depend on me,” she told daily Press. She added that she was in contact with her family. When asked whether her son Marko was considering returning to Serbia too, Markovic said she did not know. "You would have to ask him that. I am not his spokesperson,” she was quoted as saying. When asked to comment on Konuzin's statement that she was staying in Russia legally, Markovic said she “would rather not comment on that”. When asked how she felt now, bearing in mind that she wrote in her new book that she was in exile, she said she felt fine. "At the moment I am thrilled and excited about my new book", she stressed.
