Military security chief briefs committee

Director of the Military Security Agency (VBA) Svetko Kovac said that Serbia is facing “a relatively low level of threats that can endanger its defense system”. Presenting his six-month report to the Parliamentary Committee on Defense and Security in Belgrade this Monday, Kovac said that the biggest threat comes from “problems related to Kosovo”. Military security chief briefs committee “Even though there was no danger to any units of the army in the Ground Safety Zone (GSZ) in the preceding period, there is a middle-level of threats from criminal-terrorist groups that move along the administrative line,” Kovac said. The GSZ is located along the administrative line between Kosovo and central Serbia. Kovac also told the committee that the VBA was working with other security services in Serbia to follow the actions of these groups and to take necessary measures to protect units of the Serbian Army. The committee voted to adopt the latest VBA report. The committee meets in Belgrade today (Beta)
