Priština daily: Serb minister assaulted policemen
The daily claims to have access to a police report detailing the traffic violation incident Ana Grbić was involved in.“A colleague said Minister Grbić was asking to see me. Moments later he arrived and asked whether I was the one who wrote the ticket to his daughter.”
“He asked for an explanation and threatened to strip me of my uniform,” the policemen, an ethnic Albanian, said.
Koha writes that the police officer has three witnesses willing to corroborate his claims.
A police report adds that Grbić was under the influence of alcohol when he assaulted officers verbally and physically.
“Policemen recorded the incident with their mobile phones,” the newspaper says.
Beside the minister, his son Igor was also placed under arrest Tuesday, for “approaching the patrol vehicle and being violent,” the report adds.
Around 9:45 p.m. the same evening, half an hour after his arrest, Grbić was released after acting KPS regional commander Musliu Klokoci arrived and escorted him home.
Branislav Grbić is the only ethnic Serb in the province’s government.
