BELGRADE A Molotov cocktail was thrown in the backyard of the family home of Director of Informer daily Damir Dragic late on Tuesday evening. Dragic qualified the incident as an attack on the daily's editorial policy. An Opel Astra vehicle owned by the father of Damir Dragic was severely damaged by the fire, and it was sheer luck that nobody was injured in the incident. Chief editor and owner of the Informer daily Dragan Vucicevic said that the attack will not intimidate reporters and editors. "We will continue reporting about political thieves who robbed Serbia," Vucicevic said and called on the police to identify the perpetrators as soon as possible. The Association of Journalists of Serbia (UNS) has called on police to launch "an energetic investigation" following the incident, find the perpetrators, and for them to be punished in the most sever manner. The association also stressed that it must be established whether there was any connection between the attack and the reporting of the newspaper, and noted that the punishment for those who threaten the security of person conducting business of public interest is up to eight years in prison.
