The Serbian government intends to withdraw the funds which will have been reserved for emergency disbursement, reads the statement issued on the last day of talks between Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic and the IMF delegation headed by Albert Jaeger. The talks underlined the importance to realize the 2011 fiscal policy in line with the already determined fiscal rules. One of the topics of the meeting was also the implementation of reforms, as well as reforms aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of Serbia's economy that are to be introduced in the coming period, the Serbian government office for cooperation with the media released. The IMF mission started official talks in Belgrade on May 18. In the past ten days, it had a number of meetings with the country's top officials and experts, during which it was agreed that Serbia needs a new precautionary arrangement designed to boost the current reforms. On April 15, Serbia successfully completed the three-year stand-by arrangement, within which the country withdrew EUR 1.52mn out of a total of EUR 3mn.
