The government will today discuss the draft budget review for 2008. Under the planned review, this year’s expenditure will increase by approximately EUR 195mn, while revenue should be from EUR 130.4mn to EUR 156mn higher, marginally more than initially planned, said Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic earlier. Government to discuss budget review Under this year’s budget review, revenue is expected to increase from the planned EUR 8.3bn to approximately EUR 8.5bn, while spending will rise from EUR 8.5bn to approximately EUR 8.7bn. Thus, instead of the planned EUR 193mn, the budget deficit would be about EUR 261mn. The government will also discuss today the National Road and Railway Infrastructure strategy. The plan includes the construction of Corridor 10, the funding for which has already been taken care of. The European Investment Bank (EIB) will provide a loan of EUR 540mn for construction of one section of Corridor 10, it was announced yesterday after a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Mladjan Dinkic and the EIB’s loans sector director for South-East Europe. The World Bank earlier agreed the first loan installment for the construction of Corridor 10 of about USD 400mn.
