U indijskom gradu Kalkuta (koji od 2001. godine nosi zvanični naziv Kolkata) nedavno su izložene fotografije korisnika Instagrama koje prikazuju lepotu ove zemlje. U pitanju je prva izložba takvog tipa održana u Indiji.

Od 7. do 9. januara, na izložbi “Bengal's Diversity in Pictures”, posetioci su imali priliku da vide mnogobrojne priče istočne indijske pokrajine Bengal ispričane kroz objektiv lokalnih korisnika Instagrama.

Prikazani su radovi 17 osoba, na kojima se mogu videti pejzaži i divlji svet Sundarban šuma mangrove, festivali poput Holija, Ramazana i Durga Pudže, kulturne tradicije kao što su Čau ples i pata-čitra slikarstvo, kao i momenti iz svakodnevnog života poput dece koja skaču u reku Gang ili kelnera koji užurbano obavlja svoj posao u istorijskoj Kući kafe u Kalkuti.

Let's digress from the daily features segment today for a special reason. When a super-achiever comes calling, the world listens and learns. That is what we Calcutta Instagrammers did today. In a discussion, best described as heady, Trishita Bhattacharya, one of the very few Indians to be selected and recommended by Instagram no less, spent an hour answering patiently every query of the group members about the grammar of Instagram. With disarming candour and affability, she shared her expertise on the subject, and 60 minutes suddenly seemed too less for such a hangout. This has set the benchmark for CI for future powwows in our group. Thank you Trishita (@overrated_outcast) - it was an honour and a great delight sharing your thoughts. || SUNDAY Night Feature || Title : Spectator The Photographer says:- I took this photo on a Summer afternoon. I visit this place often since its very close to my residence. I felt its a very uncommon moment where the Riverside Ghat is being used as Cricket Field with very unique kind of playing rules. This small wonder who at first wanted to play got a place in the Gallery(read stairs) as a spectator to watch the match. Mentors' speak- In recent times, we have seen a lot of pictures taken at Mallik Ghat, infact even we have featured one of them but this picture does depict the "cricket craze" in the city of joy. Of course, this city did produce one the finest left handed batsmen of all times. The striking aspect of the picture is definitely the little kid sitting right in-front, watching the ball sail over the fielder's' head. That does trigger a couple of childhood memories doesn't it? Also the cloudscape creates a mesmerizing air. Well done. A brilliant photograph by Arghya Chatterjee @arghya005 , shot at Purulia. Near Ayodhya Hills with the seasonal Kash ful (kash flowers) in the backdrop. In this frame, we get to the see the traditional Chhau Dance with the masked 'warrior' performing his signature act. In my opinion, this is one of the best images ever shared on our platform till date. Kudos to Mr Arghya Chatterjee for this amazing picture.
