Trump said in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, that the United States has "massive amounts of ammunition, especially certain types."

He added that additional supplies are being continuously produced and delivered as needed, emphasizing that the defense industry is building the largest number of new plants and factories in the country's history.

At the same time, the U.S. president sharply criticized the sources behind media reports alleging shortages of military stockpiles.

"We are looking for those who leaked this treasonous information," Trump wrote, adding that he would seek lengthy prison sentences for those responsible.

As previously reported by The Washington Post, Trump allegedly sharply criticized U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over depleted stockpiles of key munitions, which were said to be limiting Washington's military options in the conflict with Iran.

According to the newspaper, during a Cabinet meeting Trump demanded an explanation from Hegseth as to why, in his view, the ammunition stockpile issue had not been resolved, despite his belief that it had already been addressed.
