Afghanistan's Ministry of Defense said its forces had launched strikes on what it described as an Islamic State (ISIS) center in the town of Saranan, in Pakistan's border region of Balochistan, as well as on other locations in the country's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Reuters reported.
In a statement, the Pakistani military said the drones launched from Afghanistan were detected immediately and neutralized.
Authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said the drone strike occurred near a government school in Saranan, where two people were injured.
At least 28 civilians were killed and 49 injured in Pakistani airstrikes along the Afghan border on Monday, which Islamabad said were carried out in retaliation for what it described as terrorist attacks originating from Afghanistan.
