Order issued — Wave of strikes carried out; Fires erupt across Russia — Target revealed VIDEO
A wave of Ukrainian drone strikes caused fires and damage to industrial facilities in several Russian regions.
Both sides report hundreds of drones
According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, the Ukrainian attacks targeted 13 Russian regions. The ministry stated that 208 drones were shot down, but, as usual, it did not provide details about successful strikes or the total number of drones launched.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Air Force said that Russia attacked Ukraine overnight with an Iskander ballistic missile and 232 drones. It stated that 217 drones were neutralized, but also acknowledged multiple successful hits. The military did not provide details about the impacted locations or the extent of the damage.
Volodymyr Zelensky previously explained that the purpose of attacks on facilities linked to Russia’s oil industry is to reduce Moscow’s energy export revenues, which are used to finance the war.
He added that the campaign of intensified strikes on Russia is also aimed at putting pressure on the Kremlin in order to bring Moscow to the negotiating table and secure what he described as a just end to the war.
