Nothing from the negotiations?; "They are unrealistic and unserious"

Iran will not negotiate with the United States because, according to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei, U.S. actions are not serious but rather aggressive, and Tehran will not give up its nuclear achievements.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said today that there are currently no plans for a new round of talks with the United States.

At a press conference, Baghaei stated that the U.S. has not shown it is “serious” about continuing the diplomatic process, but has instead taken what he described as aggressive actions and violated ceasefire terms. He emphasized that removing Iran’s nuclear stockpiles has “never been an option in negotiations,” and that Tehran’s official position is to preserve its nuclear achievements within Iranian territory, according to Reuters.

Baghaei also said that it is not possible to unilaterally normalize traffic in the Strait of Hormuz due to what he described as a state of war, U.S. violations of the ceasefire, and threats against Iranian ports and vessels.

He added that Iran does not accept deadlines or ultimatums when it comes to protecting national interests, and that Tehran has clearly presented its demands and will not change them. He also described the U.S. proposals as “unserious” and their demands as “unrealistic.”
