Iran has set five conditions for ending the war
Iran has rejected the United States’ 15‑point ceasefire proposal and instead presented its own proposal in which it set out five conditions, the Associated Press (AP) reports.
According to global media reports, Iran’s proposal includes the following demands:
-
A complete cessation of “aggression and assassinations” by the adversaries;
-
Concrete guarantees that war will not be imposed on Iran again;
-
Guaranteed and clearly defined war reparations;
-
An end to the war on all fronts, including for all resistance groups in the region;
-
International recognition and guarantees of Iran’s sovereign authority over the Strait of Hormuz.
Earlier today, the Iranian state agency FARS reported that the country does not accept a ceasefire because “it is not logical to enter such a process with those who violate the agreement.”
Tehran confirmed to Al Jazeera that it received U.S. President Donald Trump’s 15‑point peace plan, but described it as “extremely maximalist and unreasonable.”
A source said that what has been presented in some media reports does not accurately reflect the substance of the proposal.
“It’s not even good on paper,” the source added, calling the plan misleading and incorrect in its presentation.
Trump stated on Tuesday that the U.S. and Iran are currently in negotiations. However, Iran denied that any negotiations are taking place.
