The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the information, said that Iran could be willing to allow ships to use the other side of the narrow Strait of Hormuz without any interference from Tehran, Reuters reported.

However, the source did not clarify whether Iran would also commit to removing any mines it may have placed in the area, or whether free passage would apply to all vessels, including those linked to Israel.

The source added that the entire proposal depends on Washington’s willingness to meet Tehran’s demands, which is a key precondition for any potential progress regarding the Strait of Hormuz.

At the same time, despite the U.S. blockade, Iranian media reported that several ships have continued to sail near the Strait of Hormuz, further highlighting the tension and complexity of the situation in the region.
