While Trump was threatening, Khamenei achieved a ceasefire

As reported, while U.S. President Donald Trump was publicly threatening the complete destruction of Iran, intense diplomatic activity was taking place behind the scenes.

American and Israeli forces were prepared for a massive campaign of bombing Iranian infrastructure, while mediators from Pakistan, Egypt, and Turkey coordinated revisions to Iran’s proposals.

Supreme Leader Khamenei was actively involved in the process, communicating via couriers due to assassination threats, and his “green light” made the agreement possible. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi played a “key role” in conducting negotiations and convincing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to accept the deal, according to analysis.

Despite the progress of the agreement, Trump issued a threat that “an entire civilization will die,” while his aides and allies remained uncertain about his position until the last moment.

After discussions with Netanyahu and Pakistani Field Marshal Asim Munir, Trump agreed to a two-week ceasefire. U.S. forces received orders to withdraw 15 minutes after the announcement.

The agreement provides for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to vessels in coordination with Iranian forces. However, details remain unclear regarding the volume of maritime traffic and how strictly Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will adhere to the ceasefire.
