Israel strikes, Hezbollah loses control: Lebanese Government puts an end to the militia
The militant group Hezbollah criticized the Lebanese government’s decision to ban Hezbollah’s military activities for the first time, the group said in a statement.
“There was no justification for this decision,” Mohamed Raad, an official of the Iran-backed militia, said in a statement.
“This move creates internal problems that could further inflame tensions and unrest,” he warned.
He stressed that “the Lebanese people expected a decision rejecting Israeli aggression.”
Israel Responds to Hezbollah Attack
As a reminder, the Lebanese government today banned Hezbollah’s military activities after the Islamist organization opened fire on Israel in retaliation for the killing of Iran’s supreme leader.
Throughout the day, Israel launched large-scale airstrikes on Hezbollah-controlled southern suburbs of Beirut and other areas across Lebanon in response to the Hezbollah attack.
