The Iranian delegation is led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, while the United States is represented by Middle East special envoy Steve Whitcraft and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

According to an Omani source, both the Iranian and American sides have given the green light to each other’s proposals, reported the Iranian agency Mehr.

Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Al Busaidi stated after the meeting with Whitcraft and Kushner that the negotiators showed “unprecedented openness to new and creative ideas and solutions.”

The meeting also discussed the “necessary guarantees” for reaching an agreement.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated that Tehran presented a proposal during the ongoing round of indirect talks aimed at protecting its nuclear rights and ensuring effective sanctions relief.

Baghaei emphasized that the discussions remain focused on nuclear-related issues, underlining that Iran’s positions on lifting sanctions and safeguarding its nuclear rights are clear and consistent.

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), is also participating in the talks as a “technical observer,” reports Mehr.
