Putin and Trump are deciding the fate of the world; What is hidden behind closed doors?
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated today that, for now, there is no talk of a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump before the end of the year, and that their conversation must be productive.
“The meeting must be prepared and must be productive. For it to be productive, expert-level work has to be done, which is currently underway. This is shuttle diplomacy,” Peskov told Russian media.
He emphasized that Russia still does not know how the negotiations between the United States and Ukraine in Florida concluded, Sputnik reported.
“Once we find out, it will then be clear how to proceed and in which direction,” Peskov stressed.
When asked whether the talks between European leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as Trump’s remarks that he is not satisfied with Zelensky, mean that resolving the Ukrainian conflict will be delayed because of Kyiv, Peskov said that work on resolving the conflict is extremely complex and must be conducted behind closed doors.
Three days of talks between American and Ukrainian officials wrapped up in Florida on Saturday. After the negotiations, U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steven Witkoff, and businessman Jared Kushner held a phone conversation with Zelensky.
According to the U.S. outlet Axios, the United States is trying to find a new approach to resolving territorial issues in the talks with the Ukrainian side.
