World media have reported that a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip has come into effect. Following a meeting of the Israeli government, it was revealed that an agreement on the “comprehensive end of the war in Gaza” has been signed.

A senior Hamas official stated today that the group is declaring the end of the war, claiming it marks the beginning of a “permanent ceasefire.”

Ministers in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s security cabinet gathered at the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem to discuss the agreement reached earlier this morning regarding the release of hostages and the start of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced today that he has agreed to address the Israeli parliament during his visit, which is expected to take place on Sunday.
