"On September 12 of this year, the joint strategic exercise of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation 'West-2025' was launched," the report states.

As noted, the exercise will be the final stage of the joint training of the armed forces of the two countries in 2025, RIA Novosti reports.

On the other hand, NATO members are also starting their exercises.

Namely, the exercises to be held from September 12 to 16 include ten Northern European NATO member countries, while Lithuania and Poland are conducting their national defense exercises.

This year, Poland is conducting "Iron Defender-25", with 30,000 soldiers involved in defense simulations, while Lithuania is holding the "Thunder Strike" exercise, focused on the readiness of its own forces in case of crisis situations.

 

According to data from social networks, 150,000 soldiers are participating in the "West - 2025" military exercise, which is why the NATO army is on full alert, since the exercises are being held near the borders of Poland, which was invaded by drones from Russia three days ago.

Poland closed its borders

Tonight, Poland has closed the border with Belarus until further notice and will not open it until the end of the Russian-Belarusian military maneuvers West-2025, Polish Minister of the Interior Marcin Kierwiński announced last night in Terespol.

"Those maneuvers are directed against Poland and the European Union. We will open the border, but only when there are guarantees that we are not threatened by any provocations, any aggressive behavior. Of course, for the sake of the economy, we will do everything to keep the crossings closed for as short a time as possible,"  Kierwiński told reporters at the border crossing at Terespol tonight.

At Russia's request not to close the border, the minister said that the borders and two road and three railway crossings will certainly remain closed until the end of the Russian-Belarusian military maneuvers "West-2025", which were announced from September 12 to 16, but Western intelligence services warn that Russia may extend them.
