NATO orders: Transfer as quickly as possible

"Preparations are underway, we are working very closely with the Germans on the transfer of the Patriots," Grynkewich said at a press conference in the German city of Wiesbaden, Reuters reported.

He added that the order had been given to transfer the systems as quickly as possible.

US President Donald Trump had previously announced that Washington would provide the Patriot systems and other weapons to Ukraine, but stressed that NATO member states would need to buy them first.

Several European countries have expressed their willingness to buy US weapons for Ukraine, although the details of these arrangements have yet to be agreed.

However, there are those who have opposed the idea. Namely, for now, four European countries are refusing to participate in US President Donald Trump's project to buy US weapons for Ukraine.

Trump's plan

US President Donald Trump on Monday gave Moscow a 50-day ultimatum, demanding a peace deal with Kyiv. If the conditions are not met, he threatened to impose 100 percent tariffs on Russian imports, along with secondary tariffs on countries that buy oil, gas and other energy resources.

At the same time, Donald Trump announced that the US and the EU had agreed to send American weapons to Kyiv, with Europe bearing the costs. Future deliveries would include Patriot batteries, not just missiles.

As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted, Trump's plan is business-like.

"The Kremlin is closely monitoring all statements about Western arms deliveries to Ukraine; this topic is high on the agenda," he said.

He stressed that Europe is declaring its readiness to spend untold amounts of money on arms purchases in order to provoke a continuation of the war.
