Russia is asking for an urgent session of the UN Security Council because of the dangerous threat

As the first deputy permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyansky said today, European countries are trying to prevent a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine.

He added that he expects the meeting to be scheduled for May 30, in response to the request of European countries for the session a day earlier, reports TASS.

"The patience of our enemies in the UN, who are patiently waiting for the results of the Istanbul negotiations and the reaction of US President Donald Trump, seems to have run out. It is important for them to keep the Ukrainian issue 'on the surface' in the Security Council, even if they risk not hitting the tone preferred by the new US administration," he said.
