Game over for "Patriot"

Russia, on the other hand, at least according to the journalists of "Economist", is capable of producing many more ballistic missiles.

As stated in the text, the American company Lockheed Martin, which produces the Patriot systems and the PAC-3 missiles for them, is noticeably lagging behind the Russian factories that produce ballistic missiles, in terms of the pace of production.

In particular, the American factory increases the volume of production of rockets to 650 per year. But that is still about 100 units less than Russia's projected production of the corresponding missiles.

As noted by a source in the Ukrainian government, Moscow currently has a stockpile of 500 missiles. At the same time, Ukraine needs two "PAC-3" units to intercept every Russian missile, Novosti reported.

The British newspaper further writes that the production of "Patriot" missiles should also begin in Germany, but only at the end of 2026.

There is another problem

However, it is not only the number of missiles produced for the "Patriot" system that is a problem. Namely, as reported by Reuters on Monday, Russian "Iskanders" are now capable of bypassing the defense of American air defense systems.

This was stated by the spokesperson of the command of the Ukrainian Air Force Yuri Ignat in an interview with Mond.

According to him, the Russians have found ways to match "Patriot".

"The 'Iskander' missiles perform evasive maneuvers in the final phase of flight, which prevents the 'Patriot' from calculating its trajectory. In addition, the 'Iskander' can drop decoys that can deceive the 'Patriot' missiles," explained Ignat.
