The Russian delegation, on the other hand, consists of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Vladimir Putin's adviser Yuri Ushakov.

As both Lavrov and Ushakov are experienced diplomats who have been helping Putin for years in the implementation of Russian foreign policy, there are numerous assessments that the Russians sent "heavy artillery" to the "light category" from the USA to the negotiations.
