An urgent session of the United Nations Security Council is called for
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas requested an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) due to the Israeli military operation in the West Bank.
Abbas pointed out that it is about "continuous Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the north of the West Bank", where Israeli forces are conducting a major anti-terrorist operation, reports the Times of Israel.
The Palestinian WAFA news agency reported that Abbas sent a request to the UN Security Council to stop the "systematic destruction of infrastructure" carried out by Israel in the cities of Jenin, Tulkarem, Tamun and Tubas in the West Bank, along with the policy of killing carried out by the Israelis during their operation.
Abbas called on US President Donald Trump and his administration to intervene and force Israeli forces to halt their operations in the West Bank.
