Novak Djokovic drops out of the ATP Top 10!

Djokovic lost a significant number of ranking points after his early exit at the final Grand Slam of the season. Argentina’s Mariano Navone defeated him in the first round, meaning the Serbian failed to match his result from last year.

The outcome resulted in a loss of 790 points and a seven-place drop in the rankings. Djokovic now has 2,980 points and sits 12th in the ATP rankings, his lowest position since July 2018.

There was no change at the very top. Jannik Sinner remains world No. 1 with 11,500 points, but the gap to Alexander Zverev is now significantly smaller. By winning the US Open, the German moved up to 8,990 points and further closed in on the top spot.

By triumphing in New York, Zverev also took a major step forward in the race to finish the season as the ATP Tour’s No. 1, with the German currently ahead of Sinner in the race to Turin.

Carlos Alcaraz retained third place with 5,560 points.

The biggest rise among the highest-ranked players was made by Ben Shelton. The American reached the final in front of his home crowd, earning a five-place jump and the highest ranking of his career. Shelton is now fourth in the world with 4,680 points.

Frances Tiafoe has also returned to the Top 10. The American took advantage of another strong performance on home soil and now sits eighth in the ATP rankings.

As for the other Serbian players, Miomir Kecmanovic is currently ranked 61st in the world with 925 points. Laslo Djere made one of the biggest jumps on the new rankings list, climbing 23 places to 183rd in the world.
