Djokovic once again "erases" Federer from the record books
Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has won 72 of his 101 career titles on hard courts.
He has surpassed Roger Federer, who remains at 71 titles won on hard courts.
Federer still leads Djokovic on the "all-time" list with 103 career titles, while Jimmy Connors tops the chart with 109 Tour trophies.
“My main goal is to win titles wherever I play; that’s what I aim for. I don’t know or want to think about anything less, or allow myself to focus on something smaller. I’ve trained myself that way. It’s both a good and maybe a slightly bad thing in the whole story. Semifinals, finals — those are excellent results, but they are not enough. To complete the whole picture, I need to hold the trophy in my hands,” Djokovic said in Athens.
Novak, as a reminder, defeated Lorenzo Musetti in the Athens final after a comeback with a score of 4–6, 6–3, 7–5.
He soon confirmed that he will not participate in the ATP Finals in Turin.
