Urgent warning: These parts of the country are most threatened
State Hydrometeorological Institute of Serbia issued an emergency warning for Sunday, July 27 for the area of Pomoravlje, Braničevo and South Banat for heavy showers with thunder, the appearance of hail and strong winds.
As previously announced by the RHMZ, the weather forecast for Sunday, July 27 predicts unstable weather with local, heavy showers and storms.
"Strong convective cloudiness in the south-southwest altitudinal current, which in the Pomoravlje area causes locally strong showers with thunder and the appearance of hail, as well as strong wind in the zone of the strongest showers, in the next hour has a tendency to move to Braničevski district and southern Banat", stated the RHMZ.
Warning for southwestern Serbia
RHMZ warned a little earlier (at 12:10 p.m.) of locally strong showers with thunder in the area of southwestern Serbia, as well as the short-term appearance of hail and strong winds in that area.
"Strong convective cloudiness, which in the area of Zlatibor district causes locally strong showers with thunder and the appearance of hail, as well as strong wind in the zone of the strongest showers, in the next hour has a tendency to move towards Morava district, and further towards Šumadija", announced RHMZ.
The showers and thunderstorms that are expected in Serbia today, July 27, may be locally more pronounced and accompanied by hail and strong or stormy winds.
For specific locations, emergency warnings will be issued one to two hours in advance.
