School year is going to be extended?

When asked if the exact dates for the junior high school graduation, which was also postponed, are known, the minister said that it is still being determined and that it depends on the pace of making up for classes.

"The school year will be extended by a maximum of five days. The government certainly has to make a decision. I must also say that there will be junior high school graduation, because information has appeared that it will not take place. It will only be postponed, and we are looking at the dates based on how the schools make up the teaching," confirmed Slavica Djukić Dejanović.

Let's recall that the Minister of Education Slavica Djukić Dejanović said earlier that the graduation ceremony for primary school students will be held, but the dates will be postponed due to the current situation.

Also, the trial junior high school graduation, originally scheduled for March, has been postponed, and the new date for the trial math exam is April 25. As for the remaining trial exams (Serbian, that is, the mother tongue and the chosen subject - physics, biology, geography, chemistry and history), the schools are left to decide on which date they will be held, with the fact that they must be in the period from April 22 to 30.

"Schools have been given the responsibility to organize a trial exam in Serbian, i.e. the mother tongue, as well as for the chosen subject at times that suit the schools. Schools are in very different statuses and we simply cannot give them one specific term for all exams," the minister said earlier.
