Billions for healthcare; Vučić: "Starting in November, the world's best medicines for breast and lung cancer"

During his address to citizens, Vučić announced major investments in the healthcare system, particularly in the procurement of innovative medicines for the treatment of cancer and rare diseases. He stated that new therapies for breast cancer, lung cancer, and other types of cancer are expected to become available starting in November.

He emphasized that the state plans to make additional investments in advanced treatments and care for patients suffering from serious illnesses.

“Several important things. In Novi Sad, I couldn’t remember all the rare diseases and important innovative medicines, but I want to tell you that starting in November, the world’s best medicines for breast cancer, lung cancer, and many other types of cancer will be available. At the very least, we will be able to cure 15–20% more people than we have been able to up to now,” Vučić said.

He also announced additional funding for innovative therapies and for patients suffering from rare diseases.

“We will invest an additional 6 billion in innovative medicines, 7 billion, and we will invest 6 billion in the treatment of additional rare diseases, including Duchenne muscular dystrophy,” he said.
